Sad that Dalton and Lazenby had the least movies and get the least votes. They are both closer to what Ian Fleming intended and Dalton especially has the richest speaking voice and the coldest eyes...perfect James Bond. Craig is great though. Sean was the original, but that doesn't always mean the best.

I know there is a much younger age group voting on this, but there's no way Craig wins this vote. Connery will always be bond, plus Moore and Brosnan had more charisma (in my opinion)

Its Sean Connery all the way...Daniel Craig does an awesome job as Bond, but doesnt look the part exactly. I will say that Craig earned Bond status with Skyfall!

I went with Dalton cause he was the most serious Bond, before Craig, and I actually liked his movies. Brosnan comes in second, mostly cause Goldeneye is my favorite Bond movie. Connery comes next, followed by Lazenby, Craig, and by far the worst, Moore. I'm not a fan of Craig's first two Bond flicks. No fun. I think Lazenby did a good job with the roll, and should have had another shot. I can't stand Moore, Took the humor too far.

Lest They Forget....

Connery was the first Bond (albeit Niven) and will always be the standard that the others are measured against. While I will always have a soft spot for Roger Moore, undoubtedly the best is Connery.

End of story.

Voted for Pierce because he did my favorite Bond movie (Goldeneye), but I like Daniel and Roger as well.

Connery is THE BEST...

but Roger Moore is my personal fave, I know he's kind of jokey and not the toughest but I just like him.

In a previous poll I wrote my favourite Bond is Connery and I got some minuses. Are you kidding me??? I'm okay with Craig, he's fine but 20 years ago when I was first introduced to the world of 007, Craig was nowhere to be found. Connery (and his era) made me like the James Bond movies. And for me, he'll always be at the #1 spot!

Lazenby & Dalton are the true Bonds that are the closest adaptations of the novels.

These Bond polls are pointless since the majority picks the Daniel Craig Bond movies for everything (except for best villain). I can only assume that those who favor these new Bonds have never seen ALL of the others. Daniel Craig is a good actor on his own, and Casino was a good movie, but not a great Bond film. Quantum was a mess but Skyfall looks good. Connery had charm and badassness. Moore was all charm and not very badass. Dalton was super badass, but no charm. Lazenby and Pierce were

Lazenby and Pierce were sort of a mix, but none came close to Connery. Craig is the same as Dalton, badass but no charm, sorry guys, its Connery.

And I'd assume that the people who complain about the Craig movies haven't read the books? Craig and Dalton's portrayals and the films they inhabit are easily the most faithful to the character and world created by Sir Ian Flemming.

actually by that standard, i would say roger moore's films had more of the feel of the books. I also didnt complain about craig or dalton, in fact, dalton is my second choice, i was just pointing out that everyone just picks craig because he is in new movies, and most people dont seem to like older movies, so dont even bother with viewing them all.

j-man, your assumption is dead wrong. I've seen every Bond film, and yeah, Craig is the best. He's the most complex, the most interesting, and the most convincing. And the Roger Moore films were NOTHING like the Fleming novels.

h-man - that may be for you personally, but do you believe that everyone who voted for craig actually read all the books or saw all the movies? i am betting they didnt. as for books to movies, it doesnt matter - as you know most of the films only took the titles of the books or stories and didnt even follow the plots - so comparing to the book really isnt what this poll was about. we are talking movies, not books. and best movie bond is connery, in my opinion.

Ah yes, the inevitable question

in the words of Desmond Llewellyn (RIP):
"Its quite simple, the first James Bond you saw is easily the best one"

I say Timothy Dalton because he was WAY ahead of his time and the world unfortunately wasn't ready for him despite growing up watching Roger Moore (aka the king-Bond of one-liners) who I still enjoyed btw.

If Sean Connery could go back and change things I'd say he'd be the best because the violence and love scenes had to be tame since it was a different era when censor laws

Lazenby did a very good Connery impression...nuff said

Pierce Brosnan was the best of all his predecessors and never brought anything new per se but that doesn't mean he was terrible.

Daniel Craig is good even though at times I find him a little over-top in the action department, but hey.

Connery all the way. The guy had everything, the charm, the swarve and the coldness to be a trained killer. I also enjoyed Dalton, who was unrated and should have had a longer run playing Bond.

My favorite is Pierce Brosnan. He has the charisma of Sean Connery and playfulness of Roger Moore with a dash of seriousness of Timothy Dalton.

Too hard to decide. Everyone of them just adds something to the Bond Legacy.
But my favourite Bond director would be Martin Campell!

Timothy Dalton's portrayal of the character was the closest, and I have no doubt if Ian Fleming was alive he'd say Dalton too, and Craig. And a nod must also go to Lazenby.
No doubt the vote will say Connery was the best, but going by the character, he wasn't.
