Argo felt like the most complete film experience of the films I've seen on this list. Silver Linings Playbook is second because it is the best romantic comedy I have seen in ages. I'm still kind of in awe of how the backstory managed to justify old romcom cliches in a way that felt totally earned. Django Unchained was a lot of fun, too, but I'd bet against it winning any day. I actually need to see it again. As morix said, it's not exactly Best Picture material, except it is an epic about a

I actually need to see it again. As morix said, it's not exactly Best Picture material, except it is an epic about a controversial time in American history. But it's also a spaghetti western, and full of racism, which probably makes the Academy nervous (that's why Leo didn't get nominated, to give the nomination to such a despicable guy might send the wrong message).
I am going with Argo. I really doubt it, but of all the films, I think Argo is the most intense. Besides that, I'd be happy with either Django or Zero Dark. Both we two of the best films of the year, though I enjoyed Zero Dark much less than Django and Argo.

I've only seen four of these movies (so far) but from those I'd have to give it to Django. Which is weird because based on its own merits I would not have pegged it as a "Best Picture"-type movie. I think the fact that it was released at the end of the year is the primary reason why it's up for it now. The Academy has a very short memory.

I would love to see Argo win, but Affleck's snub for Best Director almost guarantees that it won't. Lincoln is obviously the favorite to win, with Les Miserables being the second most likely to take it. I haven't seen Beasts of the Southern Wild, but I've heard it's quite good.

1. Amour, 2. Beasts, 3. Silver Linings, 4. Lincoln, 5. Les Mis, 6. Zero Dark, 7. Argo, 8. Django, 9. Pi ...it's more up in the air than usual this year but if I had to I'd put money on Lincoln for the win.

is my favorite film of 2012, with Beast of the Southern Wild also in my Top 5. Glad to see Beasts was nominated for Best Picture because it was vastly underrated this year. My other 3 favorites were ParaNorman, Looper and 21 Jump Street.

Argo I think is the best movie of the year. Silver Linings Playbook is my FAVORITE film of the year. I also think it's one of the best films of the year too. Personally, Silver Linings Playbook just meant more to me than any of the other film that was nominated this year.
