I'm just gonna go ahead and slip my neck into the guillotine:

Argo is overrated.

My pick would be Silver Linings Playbook, but it'll probably be Argo or Lincoln.

Similar to CaptAhab below, I also thought it was going to be Lincoln at first, but I've changed my mind since and now I believe it will be Argo. Why? Because there is likely a significant portion of voters who felt Affleck got screwed by not getting a Best Director nomination, so they'll vote Argo for Best Picture to make up for it.

Does it deserve it? In my opinion, no. But dem's the brakes. I haven't agreed with the choice of Best Picture winner 4 of the last 5 times.

I think the smart money is on Argo. Its a flick that just hits every last erogenous zone of movie lovers.

Ghost pick is Silver Linings Playbook.

Argo

A good movie, but not my favorite. Not only is it the most "Oscar-friendly" film of the bunch, I think it will get sympathy votes for best picture since Affleck didn't get a best director award. Which is the wrong reason to give an award, but that's why I put little value into these award shows to begin with.

4 Choices for me: Argo , Silver Lining Playbook , Lincoln , Zero Dark Thirty. Personally I'd pick Argo but I guess Oscar would belong to Lincoln.

I would like for Life of Pi or Silver Linings Playbook to win but I know both won't so my money is on Argo.

I really hope Argo wins.

But it probably won't, cause I never get what I want.
I would LOVE for Django to win too, but I can't see that happening. My mum saw Silver Linings Playbook the other night and said it was boring as batshit with a whole bunch of unlikable shouty whiny characters. I bet that one wins. (Call me cynical)

I would have bet Lincoln 6 weeks ago, but Argo will win, especially since they screwed Affleck out of a director nomination and they'll give Spielberg the director's oscar.

Argo

Argo is the film I want to see win and should be the film that wins. It is the film of 2012 for me.

I wouldn't mind seeing either Django or Silver Linings Playbook winning too. Infact I could see Silver Linings Playbook upsetting Argo this year.

I think it's a toss-up between Lincoln (most nominated) and Argo (it's winning every other award). Zero Dark Thirty is too controversial, Django Unchained is even more so. Life of Pi might make an upset, but besides that, people are mostly in agreement that Beasts of the Southern Wild is a symbolic nomination, Amour has Best Foreign Language locked up, and Les Miserables is looking too much like bait for the Academy fishes to bite. Oh, and Silver Linings Playbook is more of an acting and

Oh, and Silver Linings Playbook is more of an acting and writing movie than a beautiful-to-look-at piece of cinema.

Amour will win

Because the Academy is so out of touch and elderly at this point, it's the only one that won't split the vote. Hence another example as to why awards are meaningless. Awards are so subjective I won't even gander to say what I'd pick myself.

Splitting the vote is the only way that's gonna happen.

In order for that to happen, voters will actually have to have seen Amour, which many probably have not. Ain't no one got time for that!
