D12 hitting Hollywood

08.04.2004

It boggles my mind why rap stars seem to have an open invitation to every movie being made nowadays. If I never have to watch the pint size Ja Rule pretending to be the toughest man alive or Ludacris' afro used for comedy relief again, it's too soon. LL Cool J  aside, none of these guys have paid their dues in the industry and I don't think it's coincidence that almost every one of their cameos corresponds with the release of a new CD. Eminem took 8 MILE seriously enough I guess and just like he did when his music exploded all over the world, he's bringing his boys into the spotlight with him. D12 has plans for two movies in the upcoming months according to MTV. One will be called DEVIL'S NIGHT (named after their debut album) and focus on the horror genre and the other will be titled RUNYON CASH, another apparent shout-out to a street from Em's past. Both are planned for a 2005 release. The groups managers, Max Gousse and Jeremy Geffen, will produce both films. Hopefully this will do for the group what DISORDERLIES did for the Fat Boys.
