Loved it! Can't wait for the next episode!
Hated it. Where are the superheroes?
Meh, didn't do much for me, but I am keeping an open mind.
Didn't watch it, never will

I liked it.

It's good to see CSI: New York back for a tenth season even though it is on ABC and not CBS. It is a bit jarring how they recast everybody but I thought Clark Gregg played a good Mac Taylor. It was interesting to see how the events of the Avengers changed the focus from ordinary street crime to superhumans and criminal conspiracies.

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Whedon's shows take a few episodes to get going. And more than that, the first season is typically the worst of the bunch. I think it was a good start to a potentially great show given the billion dollar shoes it has to fill.

And who care about the lack of super heroes? As much of a fan of the books and films as I am, I can't be the only one feeling a bit of "superhero fatigue" right? It's a refreshing change of pace and a new perspective that I

I really enjoyed the hell out of it. Feels like Whedon has returned to his Buffy/Angel roots.
I give this first episode a solid 8/10.

Yeah, it definitely felt very Buffy-ish to me, except for while Whedon directed the pilot he's already said that he's going to have very little actual involvement in the show beyond that. He'll stick to the movies and his brother and sister in law will handle the TV show, similar to what the situation was with Dollhouse... which in my opinion doesn't inspire as much confidence as I would like.

Where's the option for, "Haven't had a chance to watch yet, but I will when I get some time."?

It was OK. Needs to fund it's identity and groove to remain a contender. The cast doesn't hurt either. Just need compelling plots.

It was ok, nothing great but not bad.

If every episode is the same I would not continue to watch after 3 or 4 of them as I would get bored. Typical Whedon TV fare but lacking any real charisma as far as the cast was concerned. The plot was rather lame, using the Iron Man 3 powers, but what would you expect pushing this into production as quickly as they did. The flying car was one of the best parts of the show.

Aside from Maria Hill, not a single character in the pilot was from the comics.

Okay, well I guess Coulsen has become popular enough from the movies that they've written him into the comics, but you get what I mean. It just seemed like the show was pandering much more to the fan of the film crowd then to he actual comic-reading fanbase. Out of the 300+ SHIELD agents it would have been super easy to pick out some of them and flesh them out and make them the characters instead of just creating totally new ones (especially when there are already characters that fit the skill

Pretty sure that was the point they were going for was that they didn't have to stick to any 'pre-conceived' character details. Every time there is a character brought from the pages to the screen (big or small) that just ends up splitting the fan base into the ones who liked it/accepted the interpretation and the ones who hated it. This way, they have more of a clean slate to work with and can be more flexible as the show grows into its own. As you said, there are over 300 SHIELD agents in

Yeah, but out of those 300 there are still dozens that A) would have fit the archetypes they ended up in the show and B) at the same time are really underdeveloped characters that they could have fleshed out to become pretty much whatever they wanted them to be, so they really wouldn't have had to sacrifice anything and it would have made the fans of the comics really happy. I mean all of the movies except for Thor almost every supporting character of any importance has been straight from the

As someone who knows pretty much nothing about the Shield comics, I just assumed most of the named characters were pulled from the comics and I was probably missing some backstory. So the fact that they're original doesn't do much for them. I not magically more as ease with the series because of it

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. But I probably won't keep watching. The task force Shield isn't an interesting concept to me. I just can't fathom regular people in suits having a fighting chance against super villains. What can one of these guys do against someone with powers? Put him/her in a choke hold again? ..... So, no super heroes means I probably won't keep watching.

Meh...

Very average. I was a little worried about the time slot. 8pm usually means family friendly. I know its a TV show based off of Comic book characters but I would like it to be a little edgy. From the sounds of it, Coulson is a LMD. I don't' like that idea. I have a feeling its going to be exactly like "theKid" said below but I will continue to watch to see if it gets better. The fly car was ridiculous.

I know, I think I was being a little generous. 2\5 is fair rating. I will check it out over the next couple weeks but I have a feeling my opinion is not going to change much

Not bad

Could have done without the cheesy flying car at the end. Other than that, the show looks like it has promise. Coulson is definitely an LMD.

The flying car goes back to the 1960's; Nick Fury's Ferrari Dino had transmuting colors, invisibility capability, and tilt down wheels with repulsors for flight.

Liked it to the extent that it was a big budget Whedonesque Marvel creation. Disliked it to the extent it was a mainstream network NCIS-like procedural. Disliked especially the male lead. Coulson's cool, but didn't like the creepy attempt at flirting with Maria Hill (seriously, don't do that.)

The plot was solid, a good incorporation of the idea that SHIELD is a bunch of humans reacting to a world suddenly full of superhumans.

Its a good foundation, but could still fall into typical

I completely forgot the show started last night. I'll check it out sometime over the next few days OnDemand.

About what I expected......

You wanted an ABC family friendly toned down mild version of Super Hero action? That's what you got. I think the cast are excellent actors but it was obvious they didn't have anything to work with. I think the overall premise is fine and if you're 8 years old this would be the perfect show for you. I just felt a little cheated for my taste like they put this whole thing together the night before or something. Meh....to each their own.

I liked it a whole lot. It's a well-written pilot, funny, fast paced and effectively introducing us to the characters. There were lots of Whedonisms in the dialogue; I loved moments such as Coulson walking out of the shadows and the truth serum reversal. I felt the "Hooded Hero" was a sympathetic, slightly tragic figure, perhaps similar to a Fringe antagonist and the plot device of the centipede is pretty interesting; love how the Iron Man 3 version of Extremis was incorporated. Elizabeth

Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet are both gorgeous as well. It remains to be seen if the rest of the series can keep up to the very high standard set by the pilot or sort of drop off quality-wise since Whedon can't shepherd it 100%, but I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As for what the deal is with Coulson, maybe he's a Life Model Decoy?

It was ok, not as good as they made it out to be. The FX were a little to WB looking I thought they could have done better even for tv. It totally took a nose dive when they showed the flying car, that was stupid and they did not need it in there. By the way, I call it now Coulson is a C.L.O.N.E

I'm probably somewhere a little between "loved it" and "meh" (no option for "liked it"?). It was nice seeing Clark Gregg back doing his thing.
