Ya know... for a site that covers movies, television shows, and the overall medium, you guys have really neglected covering a large majority of these titles listed here.

Captain Phillips looks excellent. Some may view it as an award baiting flick, but it doesn't really seem that way. Could well be this year's "Zero Dark Thirty" - both are different films, but in terms of "recent real life stories made into documentary-esque Oscar-contending feature films", they seem similar. Gravity warrants a second or third viewing if I've got the time or dough.

The Counselor, Gravity, and Twelve Years a Slave. Oh, but Gravity is the one I really MUST see in a theater, I suppose.

Obviously the -1 is another film geek who thinks every film has to be so emotional.

"Gravity" easily. Either way, we're in for an interesting October, that's for sure.

Counselor

Was lucky enough to catch Gravity and 12 Years A Slave at TIFF (both disappointed me, although they are not "bad" per se, just mediocre with great performances as the highlights), so I'm voting for the new Ridley Scott, which is promising but I'm worried it could be a bore. We shall see. Escape from Tomorrow and ACOD also look good... Escape Plan should be fun... All Is Lost could go either way but I've got my eye on it... and I'm curious about Through the Never. Was looking forward to the new

Was looking forward to the new Carrie until the full trailers, which look awful; I'll stick to the De Palma.

Gravity

i'm not a particular big fan of Cuaron or Bullock, but this one is shot in such an interesting way that i think i'm gonna make an event out of it and wait til i'm in the city so i can see this in Imax

other's i'm excited about; 12 Years A Slave, Carrie, Bad Grandpa, The Fifth Estate, The Counselor, Machete Kills, Captain Philips, and Escape Plane.

Damn this is a good month

The Fifth Estate

The Fifth Estate. It is currently my most anticipated film now, and I can't wait to see it. Gravity looks amazing and groundbreaking, but my vote goes to The Fifth Estate.

12 Years a Slave

Damn, October looks so MUCH BETTER than September. Finally, because we had an awful month. I'm dieing to see 12 Years, Gravity and the Counselor but I'll definitely be checking out Escape Plan, Bad Grandpa and Runner Runner as well.

How can you say we had an awful month when we had "Rush" and "Prisoners"?

because these movies sucked... No, not really. it's just that these movies just weren't released in my country so I haven't been able to see them. Maybe they would save the month for me, maybe not, I don't know, I'm just writing from my own perspective.

That being said, I'm still way more excited to see 12 Years or Gravity than to catch up on Prisoners in the future.

Twelve Years A Slave

I chose Twelve Years A Slave. I have heard nothing but brilliant things about the film and the film looks fantastic. Can't wait to see it.
