MOVIE POLL: What did you think of the Breaking Bad finale?

Sep. 30, 2013by: Paul Shirey

What did you think of the Breaking Bad finale?

Yeah, bitch! That's how you go out! Perfect ending to a perfect series
Pretty good, but wasn't as satisfying as it could've been
Meh, the show lost steam a long time ago
Crap ending, not the way I wanted things to shake out at all
Thank God it's over so I don't have to listen to fans talk about it every week anymore

Sad to see it go but a great send off. Definitely eased my frustration after Dexter!

Great ending!

Lydia's demise came out of left field, but I loved it. Everyone involved in the 'cook' overall, was finished off. Even Jessie, who got away, is a broken, and fragile man now.

Great end, to a great series indeed.

Great show. Without a doubt one of the greatest.
Great finale. Wouldn't have changed a thing.
I am going to miss the hell out of this show and the characters. Might be getting the DVD set for real, bitch.

Hey

Hey just curious guys, and gals. We know that Skyler knows that Walter didnt kill hank. However, why wouldnt it be ok if Fynn (Walter Jr) found out? Thanks.

BTW the ending, and show in general was stunning. Easily in my top 5 of shows ever made.

Really satisfied with the ending (unlike Dexter) but as cheesy as it would have been I really wanted to hear Jesse say "Nothing personal" as he killed Todd, and also wanted to hear him scream "Yah bitch!" as he drove away.

I felt that whole end scene was so unrealistic. The bullets got all of the bad guys except the two biggest bad guys which then got separate deaths at the hands of the two guys they wronged the most. Took away from the finale.

Perfection

Not much to add after all the great comments below, other than to say this is by far the most satisfying series finale I've ever seen. Sad to see it all end but happy it went out with style and far as I'm concerned there wasn't a bad episode in the entire series.

Jesse getting payback on Todd was the most satisfying part of the finale, hell the entire series. He had all of 2 lines but stole the show last night with the range of emotion he physically expressed from a beaten and broken down prisoner, to intense rage and then an almost maniacal relief at his freedom. So glad he was left standing to try and live a normal life after all the hell he's been through. The scene with him and the box was simply beautiful, so glad they put that scene in there.

Yes.

Think of Ozymandias as the climax and Granite State and Felina as the fall out from it. It pretty much ended how I wanted it to end. I really thought it'd be cruel to have Jesse die after all the miserable things he'd gone through. I don't think I've been as happy to see a TV character die as I was with Todd. Not to mention, like every choice Gilligan and Co. have done, the final song was absolutely perfect with the overhead shot which brings back Crawl Space memories and served as a homage to

Like Vince said after the show, the show structure is very finite so I am more than pleased with every loose end being tied up neatly and leaving no stone unturned. Critics will nitpick the little stuff as they do but I find it hard to believe that it ended in a way it shouldn't have. Sticking the landing and then some in the final season pretty much cements this as the second greatest television show of all time behind The Twilight Zone. Absolute masterpiece that has raised the bar that was left from The Sopranos and has transformed the medium. Goodbye Breaking Bad.

Hell yes YO!

Thats how you go out, that was awesome! So sad its over but all good things come to an end while unfortunately NCIS: Los Angeles, Glee, Two and Half Men, American Idol, and Grey's Anatomy keep going.

That's how you end a f**kin' series!

I'd personally like to thank Vince Gilligan for washing the sour taste out of my mouth that was left from Dexter's finale. It's a bit bittersweet, because I'm sad to see it end, but if it's gotta end, I'm glad they did what they did... Not limp along for a few more years until people are begging for the conclusion... No. They quit while they were ahead, and went out with a bang. For the 6 or so percent who are sick to death of the fans raving about it, I'm sure we're just as tired of hearing

(Spoilers) It's hard to say how I feel. Things happened in the ending that I hoped would happen, in that Walt takes out the bad guys, Jesse takes out Todd, and Jesse survives at the end. I was hoping for an ending that would floor me the way the ending to Season 4 or Ozymandias did. Because it ended like I expected, I simply felt satisfied. But it's probably the best ending we could hope for. The opening scene in his former business partners' house was brilliant. The cathartic moment for

But it's probably the best ending we could hope for. The opening scene in his former business partners' house was brilliant. The cathartic moment for me was when he told Skylar "I did it for me". The rest was inertia. Not quite up there with Six Feet Under ending, but still far better than most series' endings.

Nothing much to complain, Walt came to terms with himself, owned everyone, amd went out in style. Jesse gets his revenge and is finally free!

Such a great ending! If anything it was almost too good to the point that it left little to debate and ponder over. As Gilligan said in Talking Bad afterward, he felt like this show needed the i's dotted and t's crossed and I think that's exactly what he achieved. All I can say is thank you so much to the entire cast and Vince Gilligan for giving us a fantastic show every week for all these years.

If you clicked on this thread, you've no right to yell Spoilers.

That shot of Jesse experiencing the full range of emotions as he speeds away in an El Camino...that'll be haunting me for a long time. Ditto me adding 'Cheer Up, Beautiful People' to my phraseology. Glad Walt finally had the balls to say it was all for his own ego, and stopped dumping the guilt for his actions on Skyler, Jesse, and Walt Jr.

Jack & Todd just didn't strike me as the sort who'd neglect to check the trunk of the guy who killed Gus Fring with a wheelchair bomb. Nor say matter of factly they're about to kill Walt then let him lean casually against a pool table with car keys in reach.

I'd say chalk that up to Walt seeming so weak and not really a threat on top of the months that went by letting the gang get arrogant and complacent.

Yeah, but they took all the precautions of putting the dude in the car with Walt as he drives into the compound, he checks the backseats, and all but performing a cavity search on Walt for guns or a wire. You do all that but not check the one place to store 100 lbs of homemade Semtex or other weapon from the guy who's wasted every other drug dealer in New Mexico?

And for that matter, not have one of your goons hold a gun on him and watch his every move AFTER you declare your intention to

Not trying to blow it out of proportion, it was an exceptional finale...just think that with one last draft Vince could've punched up the climax and turned the tension up to 11. Compared to the other violent confrontations on the show (Hank vs. the Twins, Gus vs. the Cartel, etc.) a couple too many shortcuts were taken there.

I'll chalk it up to the script not getting the same peer review treatment as others as Vince Gilligan sought to keep the ending secret.

Hank vs the twins was a DEA Agent vs. two professional killers. Gus vs. the Cartel was Gus vs. the Cartel. The thing about Walt is that all of his personal victories had always been because the other guy underestimated him. Yeah they checked inside the car but that seemed to be more to ensure he was alone than to see what was in the car. Nobody was expecting a Jack-in-the-box gun and they thought Walt was coming back for his money, they weren't expecting him to come prepared to die so they

Nobody was expecting a Jack-in-the-box gun and they thought Walt was coming back for his money, they weren't expecting him to come prepared to die so they wouldn't consider an explosive because if it was big enough to kill everyone in the house it would have killed him too. They honestly believed he was desperate for the money because of the way he looked when he showed up at the diner. Uncle Jack even begged for his life at the end in exchange for the money. They figured anything in the trunk would be useless to him, so the keys would have seemed innocuous since the only thing they believe they were, was keys. And they weren't going to let him back out to the car.

Couldn't have been more thrilled or more satisfied. Perfectly executed. I applaud Vince Gilligan for actually having the balls to give the show the ending it deserved.
