Gotta go with The Machinist, though American Psycho is easily as good.
Thought he was a better Bruce Wayne than a Batman though.

I have been a huge Christian Bale fan for years and for me the best films I have seen him in are American Psycho, The Fighter and he is this generations Dark Knight, those 3 films I have mentioned show what range as an actor he has, you go into one of his films and you know that you will never leave leave short changed as he puts everything he has into whatever role he is doing, I cannot wait to see Out of the Furnace and American Hustle, he also has Knight of Cups coming up which I also am

As for the poll I have to go for Bateman, Genius of a film.

Harsh Times, his delivery of 'I'm a soldier of the apocalypse, man' was chilling.

RELEEEEASE MEEEEE!!!!!

Pearl Jam MADE Out of the Furnace. It's basically the greatest music video ever. In all seriousness, I think it's Bale's most well-rounded performance.

It's a toss-up between his debut in Empire of the Sun, and the Batman films.

Really difficult choice....

He's been so good in so many movies. Plus I really appreciate the way he threw himself all in on the Batman movies without a hint of holding back. He made them feel real.

The Fighter was flat out amazing. American Psycho was truly chilling. I haven't seen The Machinist yet, so I have to go with The Prestige, which was maybe a bit understated, but a great job of weaving a storyline into what would have otherwise been a lame concept.

Among non-Batman roles:

1. American Psycho - I've ruined relationships with my compulsive need to quote this movie.
2. Rescue Dawn - Humanity at its most intense and honest. He eats maggots with a smile on his face and its completely believable.
3. The Fighter - Bale at his most entertaining. Now where'd yah fuckin' pahk tha cah Boo Boo?

The Machinist, by a Mile

Not a big fan of Bale - he's a good actor, he just doesn't do many movies I'm interested in - but I love The Machinist. That said, I'm looking forward to American Hustle.

The Fighter

Even though there is no wrong answer, I chose Dicky Eklund in The Fighter. Absolutely brilliant in the film and one of my favorite performances in any film by anyone. He deserved that Oscar in every way, shape, and form.
