Well, considering that all of Shane Black's movies are set at Christmas, that should be a separate poll in and of itself. Otherwise my top movies in no particular order:

Christmas Vacation
Friday After Next
Better Off Dead
A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas
Die Hard
A Christmas Story

better question

favorite none christmas movie set during christmas???

Die Hard, Iron Man 3, In Bruges, Arthur, Batman Returns, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon, Brazil, Edward Scissorhands, Trading Places, The Apartment, etc, etc, etc.

movies that have nothing to do with christmas, and rarely associated with the holiday, but are still set in the holiday season.

Gremlins

I voted for Gremlins. Such a classic, iconic film. Will always be my favorite Christmas film.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Batman Returns, Christmas Vacation, and Die Hard are right behind it though.

So many choices

Reindeer Games, Bad Santa, a Harold and Kumar Christmas, Gremlins, the 2012 Silent Night and Die Hard are all Christmas classics (Alan Rickman is THE KING OF CHRISTMAS!!!). I suppose my vote for most underrated Christmas flick would have to go the Ref. Far from a perfect movie but damn funny. If you haven't seen it you're missing out.

Hahaha

The people who frequent this site are too predictable. Die Had on top? Go fucking figure. Very good movie, but the obsession with "old school" action around these parts borders on hysterical.

Probably Lethal Weapon. Every time I watch that thing I think what a terrific balance that script is, and setting it during Christmas offers some nifty sight gags that add to the charm.

Silent Night (2012)

Then it's between "Home Alone" and "Christmas Vacation." Probably gonna lean towards "Christmas Vacation" as the runner-up.

Die Hard

But there are loads of movies I love on that list.
Muppet Christmas Carol and Arthur Christmas being the somewhat family friendlier choices...

It really is. 90s techno-thrillers have a tendency to feel dated, but I don't get that at all with Enemy of the State. Excellent direction from Tony Scott and great performances from Will Smith and Gene Hackman, plus a memorable villain in Jon Voight. Also eerily prescient and still relevant given the controversies surrounding government surveillance as of late.

TOO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM

I frankly couldn't choose from all those great movies...
So I choose "OTHER"...
The French cult comedy LE PERE NOEL EST UNE ORDURE (Santa is a bastard, would be a close translation) !
