It was a memorable year due to two of the finest summer films I've seen in recent memory, Man of Steel and Star Trek Into Darkness. MOS edges out STID as my favorite film of the year.

Wolf of Wall Street.

There is nothing better than going to see a film made by the greatest filmmaker alive and it is him in complete top form and in total command of the material. The only other filmmaker that makes films that can be classified as an experience is Paul Thomas Anderson. The Wolf of Wall Street is easily my film of the year.

Favorite would be American Hustle with The Wolf of Wall Street coming in second.

Prisoners, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Mud, Captain Phillips, The Worlds End, and The Way Way Back were other favorites. There's still a few I've not seen yet but I know my top two won't change. Gravity was good but I didn't like it as much as others.

American Hustle was the most fun that I've had at the theater this year followed closely by Man of Steel. A pretty awesome year, I must say.

People...

It's FAVOURITE movie of the year, not necessarily best. That's why I have no issue with people voting for 'Iron Man 3' or 'Man Of Steel'. It's THEIR favourite. But anyways, my favourite movie of 2013 that I've watched thus far would be 'This Is The End'.

I just went for Monsters University (call me a kid if you must.) I just wasn't overly Impressed by some of the movies this year. I haven't seen gravity but from what I've heard, i'm not surprised its number 1. Iron man 3 should of been called "Regular man" and it was so bad. I really wanted to see 12 years a slave but I never got round to it. The 2nd Hobbit was an improvement on the first but still not overly great compared to the lord of the rings. Finally, I didn't even want to go and see the

I picked the wrong one

I meant to pick The Worlds End and not This is the End!

Shockingly not seen Gravity otherwise I imagine that would be top.

Unbelievable

How can anyone vote for Iron man 3? Boggles my mind. I would understand if this were worst movies of 2013. How can some people say IM3 was good and sleep at night. =) It's worse than spider-man 3 (that's right). At least SM3 was in line quality wise with it's previous movies one hour in until they started to shoehorn sandman in as Uncle Ben's real killer. IM3 on the other hand felt like a parody of IM movies from the first frames (suits blowing up like they're made out of plastic) and hardly

Would have liked to see Oblivion on the list, but Gravity is a solid choice for me here.

I totally agree. They shouldn't of even called it Iron man, it should of been called "Regular man." I thought it was total bullshit, and the way that they completely ruin the mandarin. I mean what they did to it is basically taking the entire comics and taking a huge steamy dump on it. I usually don't care a movie doesn't follow its source material, but that was utter bullcrap!

My number one was Gravity and I expected it to be #1 BUT I DID NOT expect to see Ironman 3 as number #2. I was expecting 12 years a slave. I THINK IRONMAN 3 only has the high ranking because it is the most seen film in the world for 2013. But I liked it... Not going to be in my top 10 but I liked it.

It's not here, but a korean film called New World was my fave this year. One review called it a mix of Godfather and Infernal Affairs, and I couldn't put it more accurately. It's an excellent crime drama, as well as an excellent undercover cop story. Very highly recommended.

I enjoyed Riddick a lot. The first half was like watching a wildlife documentary and the second half was old school action.

Really, guys?!? Iron Man 3 over American Hustle, Rush, Prisoners, 12 Years a Slave, The Wolverine, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, and The Wolf of Wall Street?!? Yeah, ok (does jerking off motion). Iron Man 3 was average at best, I'm actually shocked that it has so many votes. Just about every other movie on this list is better than IM3.

I would rank Iron Man 3 over Man of Steel 1000 times over. Man of Steel gets my vote for worst movie of the year. Though Iron Man 3 wasn't nearly as good as many of the other films on that list. But most of the best films, not many people have seen. Like Wolf of Wall Street, it just came out.

I've missed more movies this year than usual. I really liked American Hustle though. Is it better than The World's End? I'm not sure. And I think there might be one or two not on the list that I'm forgetting.

Haven't gotten around to watching a lot of the movies here...

...but out of the ones I did see (Man of Steel, Star Trek, The Hobbit, Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Gravity, World War Z, Pacific Rim, Fast 6, etc), I'd have to go with Thor: The Dark World. Compared to this, everything else was just such a disappointment. I've yet to see movies like Anchorman 2 or Wolf of Wall Street or American Hustle, but 2013 really was a forgettable year of movies for me. For me, Thor 2 was definitely the best though.

But among the ones in that list, it's a tie between BEFORE MIDNIGHT and GRAVITY.

American Hustle

American Hustle is by far my favorite film of the year. Amazing in every aspect.

The rest of my list in Wolf of Wall Street, Before Midnight, The Place Beyond The Pines, The Way Way Back, Prisoners, 12 Years A Slave, Out of the Furnace, Pacific Rim, and Man of Steel.

Haven't seen Her or Inside Llewyn Davis yet.

Gravity is my favorite of the year. ThoughI wasnt able to see certain movies due to timing with other things in my life, those movies are 12 Years a Slave, Your Next, and Prisoners. And there are those films I just dont care to see such a Hunger Games, Saving Mr Banks.

Before Midnight

Have yet to see Wolf, Her and Llewyn, but despite how great those look I doubt any will dethrone Before Midnight as my favorite. Remainder of my current top 10 is as follows: Prisoners, Out of the Furnace, The Broken Circle Breakdown, Nebraska, Paradise: Hope, The Lone Ranger, MANAKAMANA, Frozen and Only God Forgives. Mediocre year overall, but I am quite pleased with my top 20 and there are still some great 2013 films on the expanded release horizon!
