Dead Man. Love the premise and setting & the black and white is great. Love Neal Young's soundtrack too.

Blow, Sleepy Hollow, and the First Pirates for me. Those are my favorite films of his and I enjoyed his performances.

Johnny Depp's quirkiness works best when tempered with sincerity and earnestness, like in Ed Wood. He was scary and intense in Sweeney Todd and his singing, while not brilliant, wasn't distractingly bad (ahem Russell Crowe ahem) either. For better or for worse, Jack Sparrow is kinda this generation's Han Solo and that's to Depp's credit as well.

I'll always remember this as the day I voted for Jack Sparrow.

Just to clarify...

... are you asking about his best movie, his best performance or his best character? Well, my answers are CORPSE BRIDE, SWEENEY TODD and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, respectively.

Time for a movie jail

If anyone deserves to be in "Movie Jail" right now it's Johnny Depp. Lets be real.

He was already on trial... and was declared Not Guilty.

Blow

My favorite Depp role is Blow. Out of all of his films, that's the film I have watched the most and his performance is a big reason why.

My second favorite role of his would be Sweeney Todd.

Ed Wood is still his best role in my opinion. I also like Finding Neverland, which featured a more restrained Depp performance. Jack Sparrow, especially in the first Pirates movie, is always entertaining, but got a bit overdone by the 4th movie.

It's a toss-up between 2 Gothic Burton roles.

Although "Sleepy Hollow" is my all-time favorite movie...If I had to pick a favorite Depp roll...it'd be "Sweeney Todd".

'From Hell'

I always thought he could come back with another film featuring Inspector Abberline. That had a 'Seven' kind of feel to it. That's my vote.
