Spidey has so many good villains that it's hard to choose. If my feet were put to the fire, I would say:
1) Venom
2) Green Goblin
3) Doc Oc
.....with Carnage very close behind.

Hammerhead

Completely stupid but I just like the sheer lunacy of a gangster with a metal head. I thought for the first spiderman movie they should have done him focusing on low level crime like Hammerhead and Kingpin which prompts all the mutation stuff coming out of oscorp. He'd also actually avenge Uncle Ben's death maybe. But sure whatever.

Green Goblin

Can't go wrong with Venom, Carnage, Doctor Octopus, or Mysterio (huge fan of him) but just feel that Green Goblin gives Spidey the most hell and have a similar relationship as Batman and the Joker where they are destined to be at each others throats for eternity.

Difficult choice....

I chose Carnage but Scorpion was a close 2nd
No scorpion in any film so far is a total shame.

In the movies I think Sandman has been the best so far. In the comics Rhino is my favorite with Mysterio and Vulture high on my list as well.

Don't know when else I'll be presented with the opportunity to bring it up...

... but what would you guys think of Louis C.K. playing the Shocker in a capacity similar to the Rhino in the latest one? I think it would be hysterical. Can you imagine?!
*While hanging from a lamppost*
Spidey- Was it your decision to go by "The Shocker"?
*Webbed to a wall*
Shocker- Dude, I shake stuff. It was either that or "The Vibrator".
Spidey- What about "Quake"?
Shocker- Oh, goddammit.

Honestly my vote would probably be for Green Goblin, but I voted for Rhino because he needs some love too.

VENOM?!?!?!?

I was always curious as to why Venom is considered Spidey's most popular foe. Assuming that everyone is going on the Eddie Brock storyline, Venom is honestly one of the weaker Spidey villains out there. His backstory is interesting, but when you get down to it, he's just a guy looking for revenge with alien/spider-man powers. He's not a psycho like Carnage, or a genius like Green Goblin, Doc Ock, or Lizard. Eddie Brock was a photographer with an ego complex. That's just about it.

Carnage at least gives the intrigue of what would happen if a murdering psychopath got a hold of spider-man type powers. Goblin's got the double life and an immediate connection to Spidey's personal life (same w/Octopus). Venom was an ex co worker who was originally second fiddle to the symboite.
So why is venom so loved while other, better villains get the second tier treatment (not talking Green Goblin or Doc Ock, but Kraven, Shocker, Chameleon, Sandman, Lizard, and Electro all get the shaft by most mainstream fans).

I know what you mean. I chalk up the answer to one reason: The 90's. He was transformed from villain to antihero over the course of endless miniseries. He's less of a Spidey villain and more of a Spidey character. But keep in mind 'favorite' and 'best' are two different things.

"Carnage at least gives the intrigue of what would happen if a murdering psychopath got a hold of spider-man type powers."

And what is that? He kills people? Most intriguing indeed. hahaha. Carnage is incredibly lame.

I like Doctor Octopus because his fight scenes with Spidey are so unique.

Venom AND Carnage before Green Goblin. That is pathetic.

Voted Kraven

But it was a toss up between him and Lizard. Venom is cool (or was at first) but became overexposed and watered down. I liked him twisted and out for revenge rather than an ant-hero. Carnage is a Venom rip-off I could never get into. Vulture is cool, but not deadly enough.

Norman Osborne

I voted for Green Goblin, mainly because it's not necessarily him who is my favorite but I love Norman Osborn is general. From him being Green Goblin and struggling with the duel personalities all the way to Iron Patriot and his Dark Avengers, Osborn is just brilliant.

Green Goblin

This choice is tough considering how amazing and versatile the rogue of villains is for Spider Man and how they are so many great ones.

I chose Green Goblin because I'm a huge fan of his duality persona he displays in the comics and films, the look of the character, and how big of a part he plays when it corms to Spider Man and a certain character's death.

Venom and Carnage would round out the top three.
