Wow, this is the toughest poll yet. Usual Suspects is my favorite twist ending but not my favorite movie on the list. Hell I like all of them!

Saw all the way. Bar none.

Saw kills the competition on this one. Its reputation tarnishes the actual quality of how mind blowing and original that twist was. The whole movie set you up for believing one thing and in a matter of seconds they flip it on you, yet it still makes perfect sense. Also gotta agree with morix, The Others had a great twist that is pretty underrated. Probably going to get downvoted for this last bit but I think Memento's ending is completely overrated.

I didn't vote for it, but I also wanted to give a shout-out to The Others for being on this list. Great underrated twist ending.

Total Recall has got to have one of the most underrated twists ever. It's a strong candidate for my favorite of all time. Also Identity has one that is not only effective but is also the scariest ending I've ever seen in a movie.

I'm sure there are plenty I'm failing to consider, and Friday the 13th and Primal Fear are tempting choices due to how perfectly they're executed, but I'm going to go with Vanilla Sky. Close runner up, recent release Inside Llewyn Davis. That one had me thinking for weeks.

A great question - so many worthy choices!

I ultimately went with THE USUAL SUSPECTS since I really didn't see that one coming. MEMENTO was a close second, and CITIZEN KANE deserves a shout-out. Hell, most of these films deserve praise.

Fight club for me

Totally unexpected, but have loved going back to it and picking up the little clues that were overlooked first time around.
Unfortunately usual suspects was ruined for me, though it was my fault as I took so long to getting round to watching it. I think the twist was referenced in a spoof or something...
Somehow I don't ever remember not knowing Vader was Luke's father, it must have been revealed to me by my older brothers before I saw it, but I can only imagine how incredible that would have

Tough choices!

So many good choices here...I'm a HUGE fan of "The Game", but "The Sting" is also a classic. Fight Club was great as a book, but less so in the movie. The Prestige was great, but too complicated. A good twist ending has to require VERY little explanation, and just hit you with "wow, I didn't see that coming!". I'm going with "The Sting"

Haute Tension was a batshit mental film - fun though.
Seven gets my vote - a bit ridiculous, but the first time you watch it the twist is brilliant.

It's a toss up between Saw and The Mist for me, but I chose Saw because I really loved that twist whereas The Mist's ending was probably the biggest gut punch I'll ever get. Both great though, and a tough list to pick from.

A good twist ending should not fall apart upon thorough scrunity, something that happens with a lot of twist endings (ahem Now You See Me) so going by that, Matchstick Men has one of my favourite twist endings. It does not feel like a cop-out, the clues to the long game are subtle but they're there, and the revelation does not ruin just how much the main character and his "daughter" have bonded over the course of the film.

"Saw" by a landslide for me. Still remember going to the theater to see this "unknown" movie and being blown away the entire film and left in chills and a numb body when Jigsaw got up and slammed that door shut. Will always be one of the best films I have watched in a theater.

I voted Saw. Although it is not my favorite movie listed, the twist at the end got me good. The moment Jigsaw got up off the ground and walked out I was like no fucking way. Saw was a great psychological thriller before the sequels turned into torture porn and that ending was perfect for that movie.

Three Fincher movies on this list. Not bad.

Seven has been one of the most shocking experiences I've ever had in the theater. A strong runner-up for me was Orphan. Did not expect that.

Toss up

Man, it's definitely a toss up between The Usual Suspects and The Shawshank Redemption for me. While The Usual Suspects ending was extremely surprising and even became better and better upon each rewatching when you think about how the film makers fooled the audience, and not in a cheap way either. There was so much intelligence in that film, in the script, acting, direction. Its an action movie in acting along. There aren't any movies like that anymore. However, the feeling of wonderment and

I'd say The Usual Suspects. It might not actually be the most surprising twist I've ever seen, but it's one of the most well-constructed when it comes to rewatching it. I do agree with morix, some of these movies aren't exactly twisty. And I kind of feel if you're going to have Moon on there you might as well have The Crying Game, since I don't recall either of their twists being at the end.

A few issues...

1) Voting seems to be not functioning. I just get taken back to the JoBlo homepage when I click Submit.

2) Seven is on this list twice. (And if you want to get nitpicky about it, it should be spelled "Se7en".)

3) I wouldn't necessarily say Se7en has a twist ending. It's more just a really eff'ed up ending.

I think you're confusing a "twist" ending with an unexpected ending. For example seven does not have a twist ending, but an unexpected ending.

Well, a lot of good choices up there, but my favorite has to be either Psycho or The Prestige. However, the one that caught me most off guard is Identity.

And yes, it won't let me vote either Joblo. Just sends me back to the homepage. Sites been having some troubles recently.
