He's Just Not Into You

I'm not exactly sure how they're going to turn a book that's essentially a "guide" for women to better understanding men called HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU into a full-fledged motion picture, but I guess the concept of "story" isn't really at the top of everyone's list in Hollywood-- a list that begins and ends with dollar signs, incidentally. Unless you've been living in a cave, you know that this extremely obvious book (if a guy doesn't call you back when he says he will...he's not that into you!!! Ooooooh), you know that a couple of writers from TV's "Sex and the City" wrote the book with the subtitle THE NO-EXCUSES TRUTH TO UNDERSTANDING GUYS and have sold over 1.2 million copies since September. New Line has now picked the book up to turn into a motion picture because New Line production president Toby Emmerich said that "The minute I heard the title, I thought it could be a great movie." Uhhhhm, yeah. That sounds like just about the BEST reason to turn any book into a movie, Toby. Sheesh.

He followed that with “Then the writers developed an excellent story with two very castable parts which should help make this a strong romantic comedy.

With a great title, right? Bugh. The story, incidentally, will revolve around a woman who hosts a talk show and a man she becomes involved with after he guests on the show. I think it's pretty pathetic how studios are essentially just covering their asses over the past few years, going after the remakes, the sequels and anything that basically already has a proven track record. Has everyone forgotten the concept of original thought over there? Creativity? Whatever. Just remember kids, if studios keep churning out bullshit TV remakes and sequels year in and year out...they're just not that into YOU!
