Goyer does Flash

12.17.2004

Hot off the heels of BLADE: TRINITY, David Goyer has signed on to write and direct another comic book franchise. Warner Bros. has signed Goyer to helm a big-screen adaptation of THE FLASH, the first project in his production deal with the studio. Of course, THE FLASH follows a red-clad superhero with the ability to move at superhuman speeds. Of the news, Goyer said in a statement, "FLASH is my favorite of the properties. I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas." Goyer has been attached to just about every comic adaptation out there but will begin actively developing THE FLASH next. WB, who worked with Goyer on BATMAN BEGINS, was said to have been impressed by his "credibility" with the comic fanbase. THE FLASH last saw live-action light in a shortlived but impressive ABC series from 1990-1991.
