My Own Private Idaho - February 15

Before Keanu Reeves went "Whoa" in The Matrix, and after he went "Whoa" in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, and somewhere around the time when he went "whoa" as Special Agent Johnny Utah in Point Break, Keanu teamed up with director Gus Van Sant and gone before his time River Phoenix (read more about his best roles in Indiana Sev's tribute to him) and created quite an immaculate little movie about "junkies, thieves and johns." Sounds like the annual JoBlo Christmas party.

  • New high-definition digital transfer, enhanced for widescreen televisions
  • New Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack
  • Exclusive new audio conversation between Van Sant and filmmaker Todd Haynes (Safe, Far From Heaven, Velvet Goldmine)
  • The Making of My Own Private Idaho
  • New video interview with film critic Paul Arthur on the adaptation of Shakespeare in My Own Private Idaho
  • Video conversation between producer Laurie Parker and Rain Phoenix
  • Outtakes
  • Original theatrical trailer
  • Booklet featuring a new essay by film critic Amy Taubin and reprinted interviews with Van Sant, Phoenix, and Reeves

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason - March 22

Why why why?! The edge of reason. How about the edge of rational thought? Rational thought being the first one was garbage and so is the lead's acting abilities. Don't let me sic Indiana Sev on you with a "Come on Hollywood...Stop encouraging Renee Zellweger!" I mean, another Golden Globe Nom?! And who the hell keeps giving her work? I feel like one of those dudes with an "End of the World is near..." sign and no one's paying any attention. And don't get me started on her little, "I'm going to pucker my lips and look surprised" expression in almost every single scene/movie/photo. Okay, I'm going to stop before Jack White kicks my ass.

  • Alternate opening
  • Deleted scenes
  • Inside look at the 'Fight Scene'
  • Mark and Bridget Forever - feature in which Renee Zellwegger and Colin Firth discuss their characters' relationship
  • An interactive quiz to scale whether or not you should be shot in the friggin' head for renting/buying this crap

King Arthur: Clive Owen is my new favorite actor, after having seen him recently in my new favorite movie of the year, CLOSER. "I'm a cavemannnn!" King Arthur blows. 12/21

Napoleon Dynamite: Overrated, too quirky for its own good. 12/21

Shaun of the Dead: Everyone's new favorite zombie/rom-com. I smell a new genre. 12/21

The Manchurian Candidate: Haven't seen it yet, but someone told me it sucks. Maybe they were lying. 12/21
