Golden Schmoes Winners (2002)

02.19.2003

What are the Golden Schmoes?

The votes are all in and the winners have been announced. No big surprise, but THE TWO TOWERS was the huge winner in the 2ND ANNUAL JOBLO.COM MOVIE AWARDS (aka the GOLDEN SCHMOES) with 9 awards in all, including BEST PICTURE. The only other film to receive more than one win was THE RING with 3 awards, and ADAPTATION, which won 2 (one for BEST SCREENPLAY and the other for BEST COMEDY).

Many other flicks won 1 award each, including FRAILTY (MOST UNDERRATED MOVIE), ICE AGE (BEST ANIMATED), MINORITY REPORT (BEST SCI-FI), 8 MILE (BEST BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE), THE RULES OF ATTRACTION (BEST POSTER) and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (BEST LINE OF THE YEAR). SIGNS was actually shut out completely, but had the most runner-up votes with 5 in all (including BEST PICTURE, BEST HORROR, BEST SCI-FI, BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR and MOST MEMORABLE SCENE).

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in this year's ceremony and to all who helped us along the way. It was yet another great success this year with we're already looking forward to seeing what 2003 will bring along (other than a sweep for the LOTR films as BEST PICTURE for three years in a row... :) See all the WINNERS & NOMINATIONS below...
