Flight of the Phoenix - March 1

It's always cool to see good ol' Dennis Quaid working in good movies. I don't know if FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX is any good, but Quaid has a knack for making mediocre films watchable. Like in DAY AFTER TOMORROW where he walked from Philly to New York in record time. I mean come on, it's Dennis Quaid. Also, if you haven't already, check out IN GOOD COMPANY. Good little flick.

  • Commentary by director John Moore, John Davis, Wyck Godfrey and Patrick Lumb
  • The Phoenix Diaries - Dcoumentary
  • Deleted and extended scenes
  • Theatrical trailer
  • Seperate anamorphic widescreen and full screen editions

The plan to use the ol' rope technique to budge the plane proved futile. And no one did try starting the plane first.

Fat Albert - March 22

There really isn't one redeeming quality about this at all. Really. They got that kid who was in that Good Burger movie and is now on SNL (they must really be hurting) to play the Fat One and somehow coaxed Bill Cosby to make a cameo. Fat Albert, wasn't funny then, sure as hell isn't now. So what, I said it. Especially with that Good Burger kid. More like Shite Burger.

  • Commentary by Joel Zwick and Jon Davis
  • Extended Scenes
  • Fat Albert: Behind the Band Featurette
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Anamorphic Widescreen and Full Screen transfers
  • English DD5.1 Surround

Fifty points for each smiling kid you hit with a shovel.

The Karate Kid Collection - February 1

Cobra Kai's up in the house! I said that a costume party once when I dressed as Johnny for Halloween and all these dudes dressed as Teletubbies kicked my ass and one of them, the purple one no less, shouted, "Get him a body bag!" But I kept telling myself, "Fear does not exist in this dojo does it?!" and I'd say out loud "No, sensei!" But they still kicked my ass. Moral of the story: Persistance pays off even when you're getting your ass kicked. The joke was on them though, the beating didn't hurt that bad :(

  • Director, writer and cast commentaries with John Avildsen, Robert Kamen, Ralph Macchio, and Pat Morita
  • Beyond the Form - Featurette with trainer Pat Johnson
  • East Meets West: A Composer's Notebook - Featurette with composer Bill Conti
  • Life of Bonsai - Featurette
  • The Way of the Karate Kid - Making-of featurette
  • Anamorphic widescreen
  • Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround

XXX: Unrated Director's Cut - April 19

If you're into Vin Diesel and/or this flick that doesn't even rank up in my book as "popcorn fare", then I have nothing nice to say to you so good day.

  • Additional footage not seen in theatrical version
  • Writer commentary
  • The Final Chapter: The Death of Xander with Khristian Lupo as Xander Cage
  • The End Credit Sequence: Raw and Uncut
  • Two multi-angle stunt views for the Exploding Barn Jump and The Bridge Jump sequences

  • Sneak peak at xXx: State of the Union

I said good day!

Menu Shots

Seed of Chucky (Unrated)

Magnum P.I. (S2)

Ray: Ray Charles was no doubt a musical legend and icon. Jamie Foxx is a really good actor when not trying to be funny and doing his "schtick". 2/1

The Grudge: I heart Sarah Michelle Gellar so I'm biased to anything she does. Except for Freddie Prinze Jr. Natch! 2/1

Shark Tale: The poor man's or rich man's Finding Nemo? Who cares. 2/1

The Martin Scorsese Collection: Contains different films from the other Scorsese set released a little while ago. Either way, steal it if you have to. 2/8
