Jurassic World

Utter garbage. Stupid stupid plot, forgettable characters, stupidest villain I have seen, forced romance, bad cgi, and the dinosaurs didn't even act like animals. Zero suspense or tension. Just one big pile of shit!

Knock Knock

Hands down the worst movie of the year. The only reason it hasn't gotten more votes, is because not that many people have seen it... I am one of the unlucky ones.

Why MAD MAX is on the list

Hey everyone, Jesse Shade from Awfully Good Movies here! I helped make this poll along with our own Mr. Paul Shirey, and before we get another complaint about MAD MAX being on this list, we wanna let you know it was not on our initial list of 25 movies. Paul went to Twitter and asked people what they thought was the worst movie this year, and so we added their answers to the list, hence why higher profile movies like JURASSIC WORLD and SPECTRE made it on the list. None of us here think MAD MAX

None of us here think MAD MAX is a bad movie; most of us think it's one of the best this year. We just put it on there because people were giving that to us as a suggestion, and whether or not they were trolling, we wanted to give them a say. If you don't think MAD MAX was the worst movie this year, then don't vote for it. Just rest assured that we at the site don't genuinely think it's a bad movie; whether YOU disagree otherwise is up to you.

Considering that MAD MAX, JURASSIC WORLD and SPECTRE didn't get 0 votes, you weren't really wrong in adding them.

Of the films I've seen...BLACKHAT!!!

I'm guessing the reason Mad Max and Spectre are getting more votes that Pan ets is because a lot of people are like me and don't go and see the films they expect to be awful. Personally if I had seen Paul Blart or Pixels etc then I imagine they would earn my vote. So as this is a vote for worst film I have seen this year, mine goes to Blackhat. I actually went thinking this would be a return to form for Michael Mann but my god it was soo boring and predicatable. Would be interesting to see

Poltergeist remake was fucking awful. What a pointless remake. Atrocious acting, family was unlikable and annoying, lame jump scares, poor CGI, felt rushed, and all the classic scenes from the original film (the tree, sucked in the closet, the clown, TV people scene) were totally shitted on and done poorly. Forgettable waste of time. Nobody even remembers that this stink turd came out, a few months ago or that it even exist.

I thought it was just average... and a masterpiece compared to most horror remakes. I wouldn't say it has the most likeable movie family, but annoying? At least they were screaming "CAROL ANNE!" every minute like the sequels.

Please get Mad Max off of this list. Even if you did not like it, it is not the worst movie as long as Adam Sandler and Kevin James keep getting paid to work.

Bit of a rant here:
I have only seen 2 films from that list. Jurassic World and Terminator. While I thought Terminator was ok at best, I think Arnold is what sold me to it. So for that I would say Jurassic World was my least favourite film this year and here is why:
Jurassic Park is John Hammonds dream to bring the joy of dinosaurs back to the world and things come crashing down mainly due to Dennis Nedry.

Jurassic Park is John Hammonds dream to bring the joy of dinosaurs back to the world and things come crashing down mainly due to Dennis Nedry.
Lost World was about Hammond as an Idealist trying to preserve the dinosaurs on the other island then Ingen is the antagonist that messes with everything. Also animals roam free so it's kind of its own thing
Jurassice Park 3 is a nonsense story all together that the Spinosaurus and Indominus Rex share a simularity. They both love to kill. Lets face it, when Spino kills rex there is literally is no need to hunt the humans. Similar to Peter Jacksons King Kong with the V-rex. It bites a large animal in half and still wants to chase the tiny girl. It's illogical. A lion that kills a gazelle isn't gonna chase the field mice right afterwards. The Spinosaur was just killing and made everything boring.
Jurassic World, I mean lets start off with the premise. They created 2 of these animals and the one killed and ate the sibling. This ALONE should have raised the "Nope!" alarms. Then you have it magically blended into the background where people willingly go inside the cage to see wtf it went. Add scared employee opening the gates and boom, dino on the loose.
It's relentless. It kills everything in its path for no reason other than it clearly should have been killed when it ATE ITS SIBLING!! Now lets add the nonsense of the final fight. Ok, I geeked out at the T- Rex, always my favourite parts involve the T-Rex (except JP3 where Rex TOTALLY won that one  ) So, we have two LARGE animals and this one raptor, an intelligent animal, decide to all 3 duke it out...I'm sorry, I meant have the intelligent raptor team up with the T-rex, because that makes a lot of sense. An Intelligent animal, looking at two MUCH LARGER predators, would join the fight instead of be all "fuck that!" and leave!
And going on raptors, WTF is this BS of the I-Rex somehow knowing how to speak Raptor? Ok, so it has part raptor DNA. This is an isolated animal that has zero reason to be able to communicate with anything. Having a bit of raptor DNA does not mean the animal should suddenly inherit a 65million years old dead language with a pack of animals that probably made up their own language to begin with. That's like sending someone to a foreign country where they have zero knowledge of that county's language and expecting them to immediately speak that country's language. I-rex still needs to learn that particular Raptor packs language. It can't just magically know it.
There was just so much wrong with this film that I am mindblown at to how well received it actually was.
I mean Terminator has a TON of issues too. I disliked Jai and Emilia but I think Arnold really saves this film for me. I'm also not to upset about Johns fate. I kinda think it was a neat idea, not possible, but neat. It's already a time travel film that with have a lot of illogical outcomes, but Jurassic World is supposed to seem real-ish.

So yeah, of the two movies I saw, I will say I fully think Jurassic World as a whole was weaker.

I wish I could buy everyone that voted for Jurassic World a Steak

I saw Fantastic Four opening night with a bunch of my friends, but we all knew it was going to be bad. It was just a matter of being curious as to just how bad it was. Jurassic World on the other hand, I actually had hope for and, while it wasn't the worst (or even second worst) movie I've seen all year, it was without a doubt the most disappointing. The worst news I've heard all year is that Colin Treverrow is directing Star Wars Episode IX after turning out this piece of junk.

I find the worst part is that more people were willing to see Jurassic World in theaters than the *first* Avengers movie. How does a movie so devoid of character moments get eaten up by audiences?

Blackhat

Of those I've seen on the list (less than half), Blackhat was the worst. Some of those I saw with low expectations, and at least had decent special effects (Jupiter Ascending, Terminator), but Blackhat was a total snooze fest with awful pacing and story. I honestly still can't believe Michael Mann directed it.

The fifty shades fans are the most obnoxious dried up clams. Did they sell buckets of butter and ice cream with a side of single and lonely at the concession stand? Negative replies and thumbs down welcome with smiles :)

The fact that you guys forgot to mention it is bad enough. TBND has horrible acting, a terrible plot, and is from start-to-finish just insanely boring and awful. Yes there have been quite a few bad films this year, but none worse then The Boy Next Door!

Hate to say it, but

I'd have to say The Good Dinosaur. Admittedly, it wasn't made with my age group in mind, but Pixar's previous have all been pretty good. This was the cheeziest, cornball snooze-fest I went to all year. Certainly worse than the ones I actually saw from this list.

Terminator Genisys for me.

I saw it out of morbid curiosity and was sorely disappointed even with low expectations. How pretentious of them to coerce James Cameron into endorsing this crap.

Genisys was the only film I saw this year that had an RT rating below 50%. Next lowest rated movie I saw was San Andreas which is flat at 50%. That's a movie no one can really be mad at because while it didn't exceed expectations, it certainly met them. On top of that, it featured Alexandra Daddario, who is not only a goddess

I didn't see the reply until after I edited. I realize you were talking about how hot the actresses were. While I gave off that same vibe with my original comment, what I meant was that Alex was superior to Emilia in both hotness and performance. Carla, too, now that you brought her up. Emilia looks like a baby and looks silly trying to act tough.

Jupiter Ascending worst movie ever

I like how so many voted Fantastic Four knowing they didn't see it. If it bombed at the box office how can so many people claimed to have seen the movie?

It might have grossed that much world wide but only made 56M here in the US. Also how much of that 165M is english speaking countries. Finally what portion of that is actually on this site. With the exception of you Vits because I think I remember you saying you saw it, I'm willing to bet few on this site saw the movie. They hated it before it came out and wanted it to bomb. So why would they spend money to go see it?

1) Even if the domestic grosses mattered more than the worldwide grosses, $56 million means at least 5 million people saw it.
2) Why do the languages of each country matter? Most people in the world speak English. And in a huge number of countries, American movies are released subtitled, not dubbed.
3) You do know this is called the World Wide Web for a reason, right? I don't know how many users are non-Americans, but if they were, they would write in English like I do. Actually, you don't

Actually, you don't have to be fluent, since you can use online dictionaries. Therefore, it's wrong to assume foreigners wouldn't visit this of the language.
4) A bunch of users have written which movies they didn't see. Some have said that they didn't see any of them. Therefore, I trust no one is lying.

I haven't seen many on this list (btw, I want to know the 28 yahoos so far who think Mad Max was the worst), but it came down to Terminator and Fantastic Four. I watched both in the last week and I got to say, where Terminator at least entertained me with action, Fantastic Four literally lulled me to sleep. Twice. It took me three viewings to make it through to the end, with the third being a riff-off between my friends and I because no one cared about what was happening in this movie. No

No emotion from these characters, save MBJ a few times. Poor, poor use of Dr. Doom yet again. He's not that hard of a villain, Fox just isn't willing to embrace it for some god-awful reason. I wish i could get a refund to my PSN wallet for that purchase, but alas, it happened. At least I can say I saw it and that it was indeed the worst movie I saw this year.

There are a lot of horrible movies on this list but I must go with Human Centipede 3. Not expecting ANYTHING in the film and I was still let down. The constant screaming during the entire film gave me a headache and it was so boring that if it wasn't for my head pounding, I would have easily of fallen asleep.

I didn't see bad movies this year. Because I have things to do and little time to waste on movies that aren't good, or aren't fun (Kingsman!; Mission: Impossible 5!). That said, Black Mass suffers from being JUST a gangster movie. Sicario wasn't JUST a drug war movie. Spotlight wasn't JUST a newspaper movie. And Mad Max: Fury Road wasn't JUST a post-apocalyptic action movie. Still Johnny Depp and Joel Edgerton were fantastic.

Out of all the movies I've seen from this list I'd have to go with 50 Shades. Granted, I only saw this to see what the hype was all about. I figured this was going to be bad but it was just awful. I felt like the script was written by a 3rd grader. The acting sucked which is a shame cause Jamie Dornan is amazing in "The Fall". 50 Shades could've actually been much better if it was darker and of course done by the right people.

Vacation takes the top spot for me. Terminator was pretty awful too. Third I would have to go to Mad Max, not because it was overly bad or unwatchable but because I think I overhyped it to much before sitting in a theater to watch it. I was expecting something spectacular and left feeling it was just ok, while it was nice to look at I was kind of disappointed with the story and a lot of the action.

Dark Places

Didn't get around to watching many of the films above (Fifty Shades, Terminator, F4) but I was looking forward to Dark Places after the success of Gone Girl and Theron in the lead. What a borefest. It was a struggle to stay awake. Even Theron didn't look fully committed in the film.

I agree. I watched this the other night. Theron sold it to me to turn it on, but then I saw that it had something to do with the "Gone Girl" people and all my hopes were lost. I still gave it a try for her though. Of course, like Gone Girl, it was long and boring. She should have known better than to do this film.

I too didn't like it. And I'm not just comparing it to (the excellent) GONE GIRL.

19+ people saw Jem?

I could have done without Crimson Peak I guess. It wasn't terrible but definitely the worst of the ones I saw.

From what I've seen on the list I'd have to go with Terminator...

Very disappointing. Felt like some random kid's fanfiction that would've been better suited for a comic mini-series.

It's really hard to just pick one

Each (outside of Mad Max) has their own reasons for why they range from mediocre to absolute garbage. Some due to high expectations others simply due to a quick money grab--this often being based on an unnecessary sequel. If I was forced to pick one it would be Fifty Shades of Grey simply because it gets a lot of defenders who praise the film for being so edgy when in reality its an even worse version of the god awful Twilight Saga. Coming close to it would be Ted 2, Fantastic Four, and Knock

Honestly, I thought the visual of Mad Max were amazing, but the story was god awful. No dialogue for the first 45 minutes. And the whole story was, hey lets have a marathon all the way in one direction and then the last 15 minutes, let's head back to where we started. The "journey" was so lame. Again, visually cool, but I really don't understand the hardcore love and critical praise this movie got. I like the Mad Max movies, but I definitely understand why it's on the list.

I wish I could have picked 2...

I picked Jupiter Ascending. I had to because it was so terrible, I had to turn it off 30 minutes in, and that rarely has to happen. Jurassic World needs to be in there too. That turd of a movie was so bad. So, so bad. Jurassic World 2 will be Turok in modern day. So bad. Slow motion raptor run anyone?

Jurassic World was awful. Shitty script, bad acting, boring characters, cartoonish CGI, lame villian. It was a poor copy of the much superior 1993 film.

The first half of Fantastic Four actually wasn't that bad. Can't see how it's worse than We are Your Friends, Jem and the Holograms, Mortdecai, Hot Pursuit, Jupiter Ascending... I get it, the movie was not good, but certainly not worse than a lot of the films on this list.

I didn't like Jurassic World either. It was a bit ridiculous with the raptor training and the invisible dinosaur but I don't think it's the worst movie of 2015 nor an overall bad film. However, Spectre while it had great action, the plot was such a let down. The plot consisted of Bond having to travel to various locations. It was like "And now we have to go to this place.. and now we have to go to this place".. etc ..And the ending revelation was such a cliche too. Didn't hate Spectre, but I

I've only ever seen four films on this list (Jurassic World, Spectre, Mad Max, Terminator) and of the remainders, I'll likely only ever watch Chappie, Jupiter Ascending, and Pan. I MIGHT watch Black Hat, Mortdecai, Strange Magic, Hitman, and Fantastic Four. The rest - NO. Talk to me in four or five years when I've caught a couple of these.

Of the four I actually saw? Terminator by a country mile. I don't think the script was half bad, but the execution was pretty incompetent and Jai

Short of having some $750 million dollar Peter Jackson War of the Machines Trilogy extravaganza (which would be kind of awesome), I'm not sure what else this franchise has left to offer.

Spectre

Had the most going on for it: great cast, top notch production, a decent director and yet turned out the most dissapoining movie this year and one of the worst Bondīs ever thanks to cliched, dumb and lazy script. Nothing in this movie made sense: From Bond taking out a whole City block at the beginning which nobody seemed to take notice of; to the villain (Spoiler alert) turning out to be his Long lost stepbrother, which was nobody mentioned and nobody cared about anyway. And seriously,

And seriously, Non-Blofeld had planned all of that up to the end (even worse and unbelievable than the subway escape from skyfall) ? Fuck this lazy writing. This one made "Quantum of Solace" look good and ended Craigīs stellar Bond turn on a very sour note.

I actually watched Jupiter Ascending (not in theaters), and it's easy to say that it's the worst crap that The Wachowskis ever made. It features a lot of questionable design choices, a generic anime-ish plot, and uninteresting lead actors.

Terminator Genisys

Took a big, steaming dump all over the franchise. (& I'm even a fan of 'Salvation' & 'Rise' is a guilty pleasure) So that's saying something.

Like "The Matrix" & "Firefly" franchises...Just let it be. It had it's time.

I honestly only try to see good movies. Obviously avoided 50 Shades and Fantastic Four... But out of the list that I have seen... Pan and Spectre were the only let downs or "Bad movies to me."

Objectively Pan was worse, but Spectre had no excuse to be as bad as it was, even though it wasn't the worst I saw this year. Biggest disappointment.

Maze Runner: Scorch Trials

I read these stupid friggin books because they never really ended at the end of each novel. Then this piece of crap movie came along. This had to be the worst one of the year. Not anything close to the book and just retarded. This was the biggest piece of crap I saw. I try to limit the amount of crap I watch a year to a super low number and this garbage got through. I wouldn't have wasted any time on Fantastic Four. Looked terrible from the first trailer.

SCORCH TRIALS was actually really good. It's only people that read the books that don't like it, because it strays so much from the book. Which is understandable why they would hate it.

I thought it was average... but a masterpiece compared to a lot of Y.A. novel adaptations.
