E'town, Dukes on web

04.11.2005

While it's admittedly not much, Paramount Pictures quietly launched the official website for Cameron Crowe's ELIZABETHTOWN over the weekend. It features only a striking photo of stars Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst looking out on a beautiful country landscape, but what it does do is give us some hope that we'll see a trailer for this film sooner rather than later. The film was recently pushed back to an October 14th date from the original summer date. Footage was recently shown at ShoWest but no idea yet when (or if) that will be made available to us nerds on the web. To tide you over in the meanwhile, while we wait for some more goods from this film, you can check out this article from the JoBlo archives that highlights a bunch of stills from the film. And if word from Orlando Bloom, who's out promoting KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, is any indicator, this film will be a big winner. He says, "To have done my first contemporary lead role with an American accent with the quintessential American director [Crowe], this is a guy whos got his hand on his heart with his finger on the pulse of America as far as I can tell in terms of the movies that Ive seen that hes directed. He just knows how to take a moment and make it such a real sublime moment in terms of today."

On the completely other end of the spectrum, Warner Bros. launched the teaser site for DUKES OF HAZZARD. Right now all that's available are buddy icons and six wallpapers but the trailer is expected to debut at the end of this month. And any opportunity to put a giant portrait of Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke on your computer screen is a good one.
