Million Dollar Baby - July 12

A friend of mine who saw this in the theatre told me it was just like watching a Lifetime movie; only more melodramatic. Is that even possible? Well, to my friend, it is. Hey, his words not mine. And what the hell was he doing watching Lifetime in the first place? Loser. Fans of Baby will be stoked as there will be about ninety editions of it, including seperate widescreen and full screen editions and a three disc Special Collector's Edition. Specs on the extras are sketchy at best, but will include a James Lipton roundtable feature with Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman, a Born to Fight featurette with real life boxer Lucia Rijker and a Producers Round 15 behind the scenes feature. Artwork for the Special Collector's Edition is below.

Curb Your Enthusiasm (S4)

Larry David continues to be one of the funniest dudes on TV even though, in my opinion, the show has really been reaching in it's gags and storylines after season 2. Still, there's a lot to say about a so-so fourth season being a helluva lot funnier than 97.045% of the other so called "sitcoms" out there. However, there's not a lot to say about the damn DVD set, as details haven't been released so far. You'll get all ten eps. in full frame and possibly a commentary on a few eps. as well. Who knows? You will, when we get the info, baby.

Pretty Woman (SE) - September 6

This movie had me at hello. Or was that Jerry Maguire? Nah, it was Julia Roberts, the hooker with the heart of gold and long, mile high legs. Get this for your lady friend (or man friend) for their birthday and they will love you long time.

Menu Shots

Spaceballs (SE): Somehow, the parody turns out to be a better movie than the movie it's making fun of. Weird. 5/3

Benny Hill: The Lost Years: England's hottest export since Elizabeth Hurley. 5/3

Dogtown and Z-Boys (SE): Awesome documentary on the evolution of modern skateboarding. Features a bummed out narration by Sean Penn. 5/3

Star Trek Enterprise (S1): Um, yeah. Please order :-) 5/3

Bill Pullman: Totally stoked about the new Spaceballs (SE)
