.... there are very few things in life that I find funnier than some poor sap falling down the stairs in a movie theatre. Especially if this act involves 4 Cokes and a pile of steaming hot nacho cheese. Thanks for the laughs Mom. It's time again for some of those quirky little movie facts that tend to fill my inbox with name calling and well disguised viruses. I don't make these things up guys, I just steal them from the people that do. Use them to impress your friends, annoy your better half, settle bar bets, cause those lesser film buffs to weep themselves deeper into solidarity, or just read for your own enjoyment. Useless movie knowledge rocks all sorts of ass.

  • Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, Robert Redford, Ryan O'Neal, and Dustin Hoffman all passed on the role of Michael Coleone in THE GODFATHER.
  • Tom Cruise is in YOUNG GUNS.
  • FOOTLOOSE is based on a true story.
  • A CHRISTMAS STORY is based on a book titled "In God we Trust, All Others Pay Cash".
  • Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie were named after a cop and a taxi driver from IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE.
  • John Preston (Christian Bale) kills 118 people in EQUILIBRIUM.

  • Freddie Prinze Jr. was very, very close to getting the role of Peter Parker in SPIDER-MAN.
  • Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) don't win the dance contest at Jack Rabbit Slim's in PULP FICTION. According to a radio news bulletin later in the film, they stole the trophy.
