Cage/Smith do Time

Nicolas Cage and Will Smith have signed on to co-star in their first film as a pair of dueling patriarchs in the upcoming comedy TIME SHARE. Cage and Smith will play fathers both planning the dream vacation who begin feuding once they realize they've booked the same time share for the same weekend. In addition to starring both actors will produce through their respective production companies. The comedy pitch from Mark Steilen was brought to Cage who sparked to the idea and thought it would be a great vehicle for him and Smith to finally work together on. When Smith agreed, they both brought the project to Columbia, where both actors have recently worked (GHOST RIDER for Cage and HITCH for Smith) and set up the deal. Cage has just wrapped his part on GHOST RIDER and is set to begin filming THE WICKER MAN next. Steilen will start work on the script and filming could begin in early 2006 on the film. Cage can be seen next this fall in THE WEATHER MAN and Smith has been spending time on his music lately prepping a spot at the upcoming Live8 music extravaganza in Philadelphia. He's also expected to star in THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS this August.
