Domino moves...again

07.13.2005

DOMINO was originally scheduled to open this summer. Then it was pushed back to early November. Then later November. Right around the time news got out that the real Domino Harvey had died, New Line announced the film was back up to a summer release - this time in August. But now, just about a month before it was scheduled to open the film has been pushed back again, now ready to debut on October 14. The move comes just days before a new trailer, set to hype the summer release date, was to be released. A spokesperson for New Line confirmed the news to JoBlo.com (which has since been reflected on the film's official website) explaining that the decision to again shift the film was two-fold. For one, they decided to delay the film in respect to the death of Ms. Harvey. For two, director Tony Scott requested some additional time to work on the film. The original reasoning for the move to August was to capitalize on star Keira Knightey's availability to promote the film while she was on hiatus from filming the sequels to PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. It's unclear how this latest change will affect her participation in the marketing plan. As for the trailer that was scheduled to make its debut this weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con, word is it will still likely be shown.
