The Latest Announcements

Star Wars EP III: Revenge of the Sith - November 1

As reported by Colonel Sampson last night, LucasFilms announced the release of a two-disc edition (nothing "special" just yet) in November. Senor Lucas, or "G-Note" as he's known around Skywalker Ranch, has stated that the DVD will include: "a brand-new full-length documentary produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. as well as two new featurettes -- one that explores the prophecy of Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One, and the other that looks at the movie's amazing stunts. A 15-part collection of Lucasfilm's groundbreaking web documentary series, Making Episode III, will also be included in the set." There you have it, kids, and for you gaming enthusiasts, you'll be able to snag "Star Wars Battlefront II" on Xbox, Playstation 2, Windows PC and Sony PSP. Not to mention all the action figures and what not. Just don't take the action figures out of the package because they'll decrease in value, and definitely do not take them in the bath tub with you.

A rabid gang of Star Wars enthusiasts line up for the new Sith DVD to be released in November.

House of Wax - October 25

I would've never guessed that Paris Hilton was even in this little campy flick, what with her face and name being plastered all over the ads and shit. Anyway, I did a little more research and found that even though this is a double disc, it does not include the infamous One Night in Paris video, which is fine because it's SO two months ago. Not to mention you can find it in about four seconds. Okay, not that quick, six seconds.

"That's hot."

Carlito's Way: Rise to Power - September 13

There were many rumblings about the upcoming prequel to Carlito's Way, mostly, how the hell were they going to find a young Luis Guzman? They weren't, because the man is one of a kind. My guess, you have Luis Guzman grow out some sideburns and shave his moustache and bam, a young Guzman you have. One thing I found is that this prequel will be a straight to DVD flick and not have a theatrical release. Weird. The prequel is directed by producer Martin Bregman, who has produced other Pacino masterpieces such as the original Carlito's Way, Scarface, Dog Day Afternoon (outstanding movie), and Serpico. The story itself is based on the novel oddly titled "Carlito's Way" by writer Edwin Torres. Shit, it was a book too? So far, the straight to DVD movie will be sans extras, but we'll let you know if that changes at all.

P-Diddy utitlizes the ancient business tactic of "maybe if I close my eyes, they'll go away".

The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl - September 27

I think Roberto Rodriguez has dethroned James Brown as the hardest working man in show business ever since The Godfather of Soul's time has been taken up with ingesting amphetamines, beating up various girlfriends/wives and taking law enforcement for high speed chases, Cops-style. Rodriguez on the other hand churns out movies from his compound/studio in Tejas in rapid succession, and even has his son Racer getting in on things (who dreamed up the story for Shark Boy/Lava Girl). How cool is that kid? Not only does he have a cool ass name, but he gets to go to school trumping all the other kids at Show and Tell. Sally brings in a pet rock, Jason brings in a voodoo doll and Racer has a friggin' movie with his name in the credits to show. Pimp. No extras have been released, but there will be seperate 2D and 3D editions of the film available, as shown on the cover.

Mallrats (SE) - September 20
