Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - March 7

Harry Potter is back, and dude, he's pissed. At that age, hormones are totally out of control. And besides, it's only teenage wasteland. So don't cry, Master Harry, and don't raise your eye. And don't fret on the bare bones release either (cover below) because the two-disc special edition is pretty stacked (aside from the rumored Mike Newell commentary). So why would you bother with the bare bones release when you can get the special edition for a couple more bucks? No clue, discuss amongst yourselves.

  • Additional Scenes
  • Conversations with the Cast
  • Preparing for the Yule Ball
  • Reflections on the Fourth Film

Also to note is an eight-disc set called Harry Potter Years 1-4 which includes, you guessed it, the first four Harry Potter films in one convenient package.

Aeon Flux - April 25

How bad did Aeon Flux suck? No really, because I haven't seen it and don't want to waste money if it sucks. I mean, how BAD can a movie like this really be? One would think that one should know what to expect when seeing a movie like this: Hot actress in skin tight leather get up, cool effects, wicked stunts........hot actress in somewhat "provacative" poses. Enough! No specs have been released yet, but you can check the artwork below. And let's here those Aeon Flux reviews, talk to me Schmoes!

The Spike Lee Joint Collection - March 7

My boy Spike Lee's still hanging strong in the '00s, and it's about time a collection of his own was released. Looks like all the films are Universal, which is aiight, but all the studios need to come together in a harmonious display of wanting to take our money and release director/actor DVD collection with films that show the director/actor's best work. But alas, it still rains in Seattle (?) Films included with this set are Clockers, Jungle Fever, Do the Right Thing, Mo' Better Blues and Crooklyn. See what I mean? All films are in Anamorphic Widescreen format and no extras are to be expected.

Rent - February 21

Everyone sing it with me! "Everyone has AIDS! AIDS AIDS AIDS! My father (AIDS!) My sister (AIDS!) My uncle and my cousin and her best friend (AIDS AIDS AIDS!) The gays and the straights and the whites and the spades, Everyone has AIDS!" Other than fine mamacita Rosario Dawson in the mix, I'm sure the film (like the play I unfortunately witnessed) will be quite forgettable. Not my box of cereal, babe. Rosario is hot though.

Includes:

  • Audio commentary with director Chris Columbus and selected cast members
  • Feature length making of documentary
  • Deleted scenes
  • Musical performances

Elizabethtown - February 7

Here are those specs of Elizabethtown that were recently released.

  • Training Wheels featurette
  • Meet the Crew featurette
  • Extended scenes (Rusty's Learning to Listen Part 8 and Hanging with Russell in Memphis)
  • Photo gallery
  • Two theatrical trailers
  • Seperate Anamorphic Widescreen and Full Screen Editions

Notables

Two for the Money: You can hear Pacino screaming already. "Give me all ya got!" 1/17

Doogie Howser M.D. (S3): Some people can't see Neil Patrick Harris as anything other than Doogie. Personally, I can't see Neil as anybody other than Doogie sniffing cocaine off a strippers ass. 1/17

The Man: You'd think that any movie with Sam Jackson would be gold. You'd think any movie with Eugene Levy would star Sam Jackson. You need to stop thinking so much. 1/17

Classic Comedies Collection: Almost a Bill Murray greatest hits collection with Stripes, Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters. 1/17

Final Destination Scared 2 Death Pack: A nifty little package with both Final Destination flicks, a preview of the third installment and a sneak peak at Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny. For those about to rock....1/17
