A Bruce Lee biopic is on the way with the Lee family's involvement

Despite only living to the age of 32, Bruce Lee did more with his years than most do with double the time, and left a hell of a legacy behind. His early 70s films are still watched and treasured to this day, so I'm almost surprised that we haven't seen more films on the man. That's going to change, as Bruce Lee Enterprises (and in turn, the Lee family) will be working with filmmakers to bring a more thorough biopic (Sorry DRAGON: THE BRUCE LEE STORY) our way.

Daughter of Bruce Lee, Shannon Lee, had this to say:

There have been projects out there involving my father, but they’ve lacked a complete understanding of his philosophies and artistry. They haven’t captured the essence of his beliefs in martial arts or storytelling. The only way to get audiences to understand the depth and uniqueness of my father is to generate our own material and find amazing, like-minded partners to work with.

Bruce Lee's films were a little before my time, but I'm still amazed at the talent on display. That was in a time when digital trickery (professional term) was a little harder to come by. Since I'm not too familiar with his life outside of DRAGON, I'd definitely be curious to see what they bring to a new film, and most importantly, who they cast as the man!

This can not come out fast enough. Just hearing about makes me want to see it. Bruce Lee was a legend. Dude was so fast directors had to tell him to slow down so the camera can pick up his movements. In the French Connection (I think it was that one) Bruce blocks with one arm and punches the guy with the other. On film, you can't really see the block unless you slow it down or you're looking for it, but to the naked eye it looks like he only punches the guy. He was the real deal. Martial arts

Martial arts was a philosophy to him and he lived it.

The family wants a more thorough biopic...in other words sugar coated and not having anything bad about Lee in it. Therefore, boring.

You have something to add to his legacy?? He was a punk kid when was younger, smartened up, and became a pioneer! Widely considered one of the greatest martial artists to have EVER lived, whose philosophy preached disciple and open mindedness. Not too much negative to say about the guy, as more introspective look into his life sounds great. Honestly, your opinion is the only thing boring here.
