Two new banners for The Dark Knight Rises are all about the Bat and the Cat

The Dark Knight Rises banner

We've witnessed a fantastic run of posters lately for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, but now it looks like we're dipping a bit into the territory of recycled imagery. I still don't quite know why Catwoman's goggles make her look to me like a Silent Hill bondage monster, but hopefully it'll just take seeing them in motion for all to make sense.

Extra Tidbit: Advertising has definitely kicked into high gear for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES now that THE AVENGERS is out of the way. Is there anything that you feel has been missing from the marketing effort?

I've loved every TDKR poster so far except for that one horrible piece with the recycled teaser poster. I think the reason some feel this movie is "lacking something" is because the villains aren't as high-profile as The Joker. I mean when you have The Joker, you have The Joker. Things are going to get ugly, there's a lot to look forward to, and you know s**t just got real. That being said, I absolutely love what little I've seen of Bane, so who's to say he won't be just as badass as the clown

I get what your saying about the Joker, it has more of an appeal to the mass audience. I think you might have hit the nail on the head. But Bane is the ultimate villain, and has a very high profile. (just not to the mass audience). He's never really truly been explored properly. In my eyes Bane tops the Joker ever so easily, maybe because the joker becomes redundant in the comics. He always escapes, and theres never any method to his madness (all be it, that his appeal). However with

However with Bane, and in this film, if the story is done correctly we will have the Ultimate villain, with action absolutely everywhere! Batman's character will have more depth, and i believe a real climatic ending. If anything i wish Nolan would advertise, and do a bigger Bane campaign in order to counter this bland feeling everyones getting with perhaps that exact reason you mentioned; the films missing "The Joker and his Charisma."

@Gcolonna : I absolutely agree with everything you just said. I think that's what it is. The people who know Bane, know that he can be the most ruthless force Batman has ever had to deal with, but I guess in order for more people to realize that WB will have to market Bane a lil' more with custom TV spots and whatnot, just like you suggested. I'm betting TDKR will be the best Batman film of all. It has to beat TDK in order to be called 'a masterpiece', otherwise it'll just be remembered as

Do you think that Nolan, or the marketing Campaign will do something in terms of Bane advertising?

and let me ask you something else:
1) how do you see this ending?
2) how do you want this to end?

I hope they do. They could do viral news reports to really get Bane to sink in with audiences that may not be too familiar with the guy. Hey, if Marvel could make Thor a new franchise, WB can get the general public to warm-up to Bane. As for your two other questions, to be brutally honest, I really don't know. Or more like, I haven't thought about it and don't want to. I just want to walk into the cinema with a completely open mind and allow Nolan's vision to happen on screen. I guess I trust

TDKR's recent string posters and banners are all really cool & great looking compared to today's anyother movies....But honestly, comparing with TDK, it lacks a certain bit of creativity and emotional punch. Remember Joker's "Why So Serious?" poster or that one of Joker's face handdrawn on a wall with blood with Bat logo resembling his lips, or the one with Batmarking burning over a building behind Batman? Does TDKR yet have any posters on par with the creativity or coolness of those? Not in my

Extra Tidbit

Honestly, they could've just put banners up that just had the movie title and the theaters would still be packed.

I would like to know the supporting cast as well, with Juno Temple and JGL. I want a poster of Commissioner Gordon!

There's also a third banner like that with Bane.

ET: The viral marketing is weak in comparison to The Dark Knight. Something like the Gotham Tonight videos that were coming out before TDK would be great. Give us more insight into that world, especially since there's going to be an eight year gap between the two movies storyline. A sequel to Gotham Knight would be fantastic as well, but there's little chance for that
