A host of great actors led by Paul Giamatti join 12 Years A Slave

I thought that after Benedict Cumberbatch had joined Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Paul Dano, and Brad Pitt in 12 YEARS A SLAVE we were already on route to a brilliantly acted piece of cinema. But then co-writer/director Steve McQueen said "I'm not going to stop there. Alejandro, what were you thinking?"

So now has been reported that Scoot McNairy (KILLING THEM SOFTLY, ARGO), Ruth Negga (BREAKFAST ON PLUTO), Sarah Paulson (SERENITY) and Garret Dillahunt (THE ROAD, "Deadwood") have joined the film alongside Paul Giamatti.  Because why settle for the best when you can have better?

12 YEARS A SLAVE sees Ejiofor star in the true story of a free man kidnapped and sold into slavery in Louisiana. Paulson will take the role of "Fassbender's jealous wife, while Giamatti will play Freeman, who takes possession of the slaves upon their arrival in New Orleans." I will now follow the example of another "Paulson" and sit outside my local cinema until this film is released some time in 2013.

Extra Tidbit: Anyone else here a big fan of SHOOT 'EM UP?

Extra Tidbit

A) With a cast of this caliber, and a director this capable, this movie just skyrocketed very high onto my must-see list. B) Hell yeah! "Shoot 'Em Up" is amazing.

I haven't seen Shame yet (I know, shame on me) but just by the sound of everything and everyone involved you just know that this is without a doubt gonna be a spectacular film.

Tidbit:

SHOOT 'EM UP is FUCKING FANTASTIC! Clive Owen in his coolest, Monica Belucci in her hottest (as in every other movie), Giamatti unusually in his nastiest...throw in gunfights, oneliners, new usage of carrots in combat (including death by stabbing with carrot), way over the top action sequences plus a Belucci sex scene, and you get one PURE FUNTIME at the movies! It really sucks that nowadays every action movie has to be realistic, dark, brooding and overburdened with CGI....Where did the FUN

Okay, giddiness in check, back to the main story: This looks great by the way.
