Star Wars Cantina Bar to open in Hollywood for all your nerdy enjoyment

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

While driving along a country road do you ever look out the window and imagine the land littered with Hobbit holes? Do you look up the sky and envision superheroes soaring high? Or do you walk around in a forest, and imagine yourself being mauled by a vicious grizzly bear and are then left for dead, only to get back up and hunt down the man who wronged you? Our imaginations are vivid thanks to movies, but sadly, not everything we see in them can be real. That is until now…but only for a limited time…and only in Hollywood.

In Hollywood, California, a pop-up bar will recreate the Mos Eisley Cantina from A NEW HOPE for the dining pleasure of all STAR WARS loving nerds, dweebs and Yelp bloggers. Nerdist got the exclusive about the Scum & Villainy Cantina, which will open for a limited time, and although it has yet to open, will be taking reservations soon.

The establishment is described on its website as:

“…nestled less than 12 parsecs away, in the wretched hive of Hollywood, CA. This temporary pop-up experience transports you into a fully immersive environment where you drink, eat, and hang out as if you were in a galaxy far away. If you've got the credits, we'll serve your kind here … just make sure to leave your droids at home. Costumes encouraged.”

The bar will offer customers a two hour experience and will take reservations at 6 p.m.-8 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. nightly, 3 p.m.–5 p.m. on Saturdays with special times for walk-ins at 11 p.m.–2 a.m. Included with the reservation are two drinks, a souvenir pint glass and a Scum and Villainy challenge coin.

Needless to say that unless you live in Hollywood and plan to make a reservation ASAP then chances are you aren’t going to be able to get in. There’s no telling how long the place will be open, but seeing as how Disney owns the STAR WARS brand we should assume it won’t be long. But my hope is that establishments like this pop-up in other places around the country, even if it's just temporary, because I am very sick of going to bars that do not let me bring my lightsaber in. It’s not fair!
