New trailer and story details revealed for Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2

Critically-acclaimed video game developer Rockstar has unveiled a new trailer and story details for RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2, a prequel to the studio's best-selling 2010 smash hit. With the title set for release on October 28th, fans of the action-driven Western franchise have been chomping at the bit for more information concerning the upcoming open-world adventure. Thankfully, Rockstar has come out with guns blazing, today, by revealing new and exciting details about the game.

America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.

After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.

When RED DEAD REDEMPTION arrives later this year, the game will feature a lengthy solo story mode in addition to a variety of online components. In the past, the frachise's versus mode was a major hit with fans, and I see no reason to think that it won't be making a return for the new title. After all, there's nothing like popping a stranger in the bread basket before drowning them in a nearby water troth. What? It builds character, literally.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 will mosey onto the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 26th. Will you be returning to Rockstar's famous series to find out how it all began? Were you hoping for another Grand Theft Auto instead of a trip back to the prairie? Let us know in the comments below.
