A sequel to Dumb and Dumber could be the next project for the Farrelly Brothers

There are a few films that I could watch over and over again. One of them is DUMB AND DUMBER. When the prequel, DUMB AND DUMBERER came out I immediately decided to pass. I really didn’t need to know the backstory of Harry and Lloyd. All I needed to know I got from the first film– they’re both dumbasses. It’s also a film that I get something new out of every single time I watch. All I know is seeing that A CURRENT AFFAIR opening makes me feel old.

Would a sequel interest me? I would be lying if I said it didn’t. What would Harry and Lloyd be up to now? Are they still living together? Did they really try to get “I Got Worms” off the ground? Okay, so obviously I’m curious. There’s been talk of a sequel from Peter and Bobby Farrelly. Both of them really want to do it but putting something like that together isn’t as easy as it may sound. Jim Carrey isn’t one to do sequels but recently during press for MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS said this, “We’re talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about. There’s ‘Bruce Almighty,’ and we’re talking about maybe another ‘Dumb and Dumber.'” I think that if Carrey got on board then Daniels would too.

Here’s the update: The Farrelly brothers are hoping to move forward with Carrey and Daniels back in their original roles since completing THE THREE STOOGES. Sean Anders and John Morris (SEX DRIVE) have been hired to pen the script with the brothers Farrelly directing.
