A “Strange” body double will replace Cumberbatch in Avengers: Infinity War

The largest film in Marvel’s cinematic history, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, is expected to begin shooting quite soon in Atlanta, Georgia. Only … there’s a bit of “strange” news circulating that Marvel Studios will have no choice but to use a body double when capturing Benedict Cumberbatch’s embryonic scenes. You see, while Doctor Strange has been confirmed as a character to be featured in the film, Cumberbatch is currently hard at work filming THE CURRENT WAR for Alfonso Gomez-Rejon – a biographical picture about Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse’s race to create a sustainable system and market for the American people.

As a point of fact, THE CURRENT WAR co-stars Tom Holland, who we all know is currently doing everything a Spider can for the MCU. Due to this scheduling conflict, Marvel has commissioned Broadway actor Aaron Lazar to stand-in as Cumberbatch’s Strange body double. Now, I know what you’re thinking; and the answer is no, the studio has no plans to superimpose Benedict’s face onto Lazar’s chiseled mug. The Broadway star will simply act as a replacement for Cumberbatch until the Sherlockian actor is available for re-shoots. The fact of the matter is that things like this happen all the time. There’s no reason to panic.

For those of you who really enjoy the antics of Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, you’ll be able to catch the Sorcerer Supreme, again, when he makes an appearance in THOR: RAGNOROK – which is on deck to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
