Aaron Eckhart to play the leader of the country in Olympus Has Fallen

What's Harvey Dent to do next? Play the President of the United States!

Antoine Fuqua is set to direct OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN. Here's the thing: it's another "the White House is under attack" film. Remember Roland Emmerich's WHITE HOUSE DOWN?

We don't have many details on this one, but Eckhart is set, "to play the President Of The United States who finds his Oval Office taken over by terrorists." Gerard Butler is already attached to play the badass who saves the day.

So what are you in for? WHITE HOUSE DOWN directed by Emmerich starring Channing Tatum, Maggie Gyllenhaal and maybe Jamie Foxx; or OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN helmed by Fuqua starring Eckhart and Butler?

Choices...

wait a minute..

Fuqua is directing this?! I'm kinda torn here because I really like the guy but then I think he can do better than this. But either way, I'll still check this out mainly because there's always something to like in all his movies i.e if not one thing its another like characters, cinematography, action-seqences etc

Echkart for the win

@TarantinoDork has it right. Eckhart IS criminally undervalued. He was able to hold his own against Ledger's Joker, a daunting task, made Battle: Los Angeles a better film than it really was, and was brilliant in Thank You For Smoking. If you paid me to make a Daredevil film I wouldn't do it without Eckhart as Matt Murdock (Hartnett? Really?). Fuqua is definitely hit or miss, but I'll take him over the obnoxiousness of Emmerich any day. I love these competing projects 'cause it's always

Fuqua has been something of a one-hit wonder, but I like how he handles action. This is good territory for him.
And Aaron Eckhart remains an almost criminally undervalued actor.

Olympus sounds slightly more promising, but Fuqua just hasn't nailed anything again quite like Training Day. I'd still take him over Emmerich though.
