Abrams is Great | Movie News
While JJ Abrams has spent a lot of time bringing a lot of fanboy-esque properties to the forefront ("Lost," MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III, STAR TREK, CLOVERFIELD), some of his more recent producing efforts have attempting to branch off from that stigma. Shooting recently wrapped on the romantic comedy MORNING GLORY with Harrison Ford and Rachel McAdams and now he's set up an adaptation of the award-winning novel "Let the Great World Spin."
Abrams will produce an adaptation of the Colum McCann novel about a cast of characters struggling to make it in 1970s New York all set against the backdrop of Phillippe Petit's tightrope walk across the Twin Towers. Abrams is not expected to direct the film but will shepherd the production at Paramount with McCann adapting a script from his own material. Abrams next directorial project will presumably be STAR TREK 2 but so far no formal announcement has been made.

Extra Tidbit: And to think Abrams once wrote a SUPERMAN script that was widely reviled.
