Adam Sandler Chris Rock The Week Of

Love 'em or hate 'em, Adam Sandler's movies for Netflix have been extremely popular, so much so that the streaming company recently signed Sandler up for four more movies. After THE RIDICULOUS SIX, THE DO-OVER and SANDY WEXLER, the actor still had one more movie remaining on his original contract with Netflix, but it hadn't yet been revealed what that movie would be. Netflix filled in that blank today when it was announced that Adam Sandler and Chris Rock will be starring in THE WEEK OF, a new comedy which is set to begin production this summer.

The flick will take place during the week of preparation for a wedding in which Adam Sandler's daughter is marrying Chris Rock's son. I'm fairly certain that you can imagine where it goes from there; yelling, funny voices and somebody gets hit in the balls. THE WEEK OF will be directed by Saturday Night Live writer and producer Robert Smigel, who co-wrote the script with Adam Sandler. It's been some time since Sandler was last able to tickle my funny bone, but there are clearly millions of people who still get a kick out of Sandler's brand.

Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos had this to say:

Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are cornerstones of the Netflix comedy family and we are over the moon about these two legends reuniting to give our members worldwide a healthy dose of the hilarity that they have been creating together for years. Similar in the romantic comedy tone of Sandler's most recent film Sandy Wexler, this film will be the perfect vehicle for Sandler and Rock and their millions of fans around the world.

THE WEEK OF will debut on Netflix in 2018.
