Adult Eddie aka James Ransone talks IT: Chapter Two

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

For those of you out there that have been living under a rock on Mars for the past year or so, director Andres Muschietti is currently filming the follow-up to his hit adaptation of STEPHEN KING’S IT. The new film will feature adult actors playing the Loser’s Club all grown up, and one of these actors will be SINISTER 2’s James Ransone as adult Eddie Kaspbrak.

Well, recently Ransone spoke to Metro about his role in the new film and even dropped word that Mr. Stephen King himself has visited the set of IT: CHAPTER TWO.

Ransone:

We got to meet Stephen King yesterday. He came for a set visit. It was so awesome. Talking to him you realize that the people who are the best at what they do are always the most open and interested and curious and unique weirdos. It is always the mediocre people that are a pain in the ass. He was so cool. He was just so open and down to talk about whatever.

Ransone on Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise:

Honestly, I have not filmed anything with Bill. I don’t know anything about Pennywise. I haven’t seen him around. The mystique on set for this is just as real for us as it is for the audience. Genuinely.

Personally, I think of all the actors cast as the adult counterparts in this sequel, Ransone as adult Eddie just might be the best. After all, the dude looks EXACTLY like little Eddie. It’s crazy! I can only hope the man’s performance holds up to the charming as hell portrayal young Jack Dylan Grazer gave Eddie in the original film. Hell, that goes for all of the adult cast. I guess we’ll see next year!

Here’s the new film’s semi-synopsis:

Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, IT CHAPTER TWO brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

Bill Skarsgård returns in the seminal role of Pennywise along with James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean. Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer.

Muschietti directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman based on the novel by Stephen King. Barbara Muschietti, Dan Lin, and Roy Lee are producing the film. Marty Ewing, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg are the executive producers. Production is currently taking place in Toronto, Canada. IT CHAPTER TWO is a New Line Cinema production. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 6, 2019.
