Agent Coulson/Clark Gregg's Hollywood comedy Trust Me gets a new trailer
Clark Gregg has been around Hollywood for a long time, only recently gaining the kind of success he deserves with his fan favorite role as Agent Phil Coulson in Marvel's Cinematic Universe. But, Gregg is also a talented director having helmed the adaptation of FIGHT CLUB author Chuck Palahniuk's CHOKE starring Sam Rockwell and Angelica Huston. But now Gregg is back with his latest film, the comedy TRUST ME.
Likely basing the film on his experience in the movie industry, TRUST ME finds Gregg following his same duties on CHOKE as writer, director, and actor. This time he takes the lead as Howard Holloway with CHOKE co-star Sam Rockwell appearing as a rival agent.
Clark Gregg leads an all-star cast in this sharp comedy as Howard Holloway, a down-on-his luck agent for child actors and truly one the last good guys left in Hollywood. After discovering a 13-year-old acting prodigy (newcomer Saxon Sharbino), he is poised to close the deal of a lifetime which would catapult his tween client and, at long last, himself, into the big time. With the support of his gorgeous new neighbor (Amanda Peet), he must wrangle the actress’ volatile, overprotective father (Paul Sparks), dodge a scheming producer (Felicity Huffman), and outwit his uber-slick nemesis (Sam Rockwell). As he arrives on the brink of the Hollywood dream that’s eluded him for a lifetime, he begins to sense that his innocent young starlet may not be quite what she seems.
TRUST ME looks like some decent viewing if only for the pretty substantial cast, many of whom Gregg has worked with in the past. He genuinely looks to be having fun in this movie and that is good enough to warrant at least a viewing.
TRUST ME stars Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, William H. Macy, Niecy Nash, Amanda Peet, Sam Rockwell, Molly Shannon, Saxon Sharbino, and Paul Sparks. It premieres on VOD May 6th followed by a theatrical run on June 6th.
