Agnes Quill Optioned

These days it seems that if you’ve wrriten a graphic novel, you’re likely to have a Hollywood studio exec banging at your door carrying the allure of cash, women, and bison steaks in a big burlap sac just like Santy Clause.

Just yesterday, we reported that Universal acquired the rights to the graphic novel “Villains”. Today comes news that Paramount has sucked up “Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery”, about a girl who turns 16 and not only inherits her grandfather’s estate, but an ability to communicate with the dead as well. Thor Freudenthal (HOTEL FOR DOGS) is attached to direct, and Evan Spiliotopoulos is writing the script.

By the looks of it, this one is geared more towards the ladies, but I’m sure its got some juicy stuff for the fellas as well. Graphic novels after all are not, never have been, and never will be gender bias. For that, I am eternally grateful.
