For fans of TV shows of serial killers and movies-turned-series, I've got a double whammy for ya! "From Hell", the graphic novel from Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, is being turned into a drama series on the FX network. Don Murphy, who produced the film of the same name, is also executive producing the series. Writing this adaptation will be David Arata (CHILDREN OF MEN). While the film focused on inspector Abberline (Johnny Depp) uncovering the mystery of Jack the Ripper, the FX series will more closely resemble the graphic novel in that The Ripper will be the main character.

I actually really dug what the Hughes brothers did with FROM HELL, despite the departure from the source material. Can we bring back the Hughes brothers already? Aside from THE BOOK OF ELI, the two haven't done much in the feature film department these past 15 years. In regards to a From Hell TV series, If done right, it could be a more ballsy version of Dexter (I said it!), and should fit in nicely with the line-up of adult-themed shows like American Horror Story and The Strain.

If you've never heard the score from the film by Trevor Jones, it's pretty damn great.
