Alexander Revisited

02.05.2007

You may be done with Oliver Stone's epic misfire ALEXANDER but he isn't. He's had a big itch to re-tool the film since its theatrical release in 2004 and though he did manage to give it a slight nip and a little tuck back in 2005, it hardly quelled that itch. This time, though, he's given the film some major surgery and it now clocks in at just about three and a half hours. As he explains in his own words below, this is his original, unfettered vision of the film. With that itch finally satisfied, he promises no more re-cuts in the future. And if there are, we have permission to egg his house. Only that's not true. ALEXANDER REVISITED will be released on DVD February 27th.

Extra Tidbit: The film was based mostly on the book "Alexander the Great" by historian Robin Lane Fox. He gave up his screen credit in exchange for taking part in the cavalry charge during the scene depicting the Battle of Gaugamela.
