Most of you liked Monday's Alice layout.

It wasn't the greatest when it came to quality but everyone got an idea of what the landscape and characters for the movie were going to look like. Luckily, the Facebook group, The Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter have been putting up pieces of the layout one by one.

I did notice however that some of you weren't huge fans of Tim Burton. I know his stuff really isn't for everyone, sometimes it's often perceived as repetitive and too gothy. I've been a fan of his for awhile. The only films I didn't really like of his were CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and PLANET OF THE APES. Burton fan or not, I really think this might be worth watching.

Meh is right
They keep showing the same characters making the same faces in the same environments. It's bad enough the trailer didn't do anything for me, now I have to look at redundant posters? I haven't liked Burton since Big Fish.

Meh..
After Charlie and the Chocolate Factory left a bad taste in my mouth I don't really trust Tim Burton with another of my childhood books, I agree he should stick to his own scripts and not adaptations. I'll still go and see this, but am prepared for the worst, which is the most likely.

I think this looks pretty cool! I like Tim Burton. Coraline was pretty cool! I have to admit though Nightmare Before Christmas wasn't my favorite. I liked Chocolate Factory, but Johnny should have had some songs like Gene Wilder.

Coraline was nothing to do with Tim Burton, just Henry Selick, Henry Selick directed A nightmare before Christmas too, not Tim Burton. It's wrong how Tim Burton is the only one who gets credit for it.

This is gonna blow. Johnny Depp might be kind of fun, but the character designs are just terrible. wtf is up with the queen's huge retarded head? And why do Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum look like 40 year old serial rapists? And why does Alice look like a crack addict?

Burton is . . .
great when he's working from his own script; not so hot when he's working from someone else's. I'm still giving this one the benefit of the doubt because I love the look of it.

I think Marilyn Manson's Alice project died when he lost Evan Rachel Wood.

burton...
like all Burton's films since Sleepy Hollow, I get pumped seeing the stills and then the movie comes around and it falls short on so many levels. So, I'll wait and see but expectations are low.

The character designs are fucking awful, imo, and the whole thing looks too CGI.

I want to be excited for this, but i haven't been thrilled by anything i've seen so far. I keep having flashbacks to charlie and the chocolate factory. I espicially don't like helena bonham carter's look in the film
