Alien meets Ex Machina in the first trailer for Luke Scott's Morgan

05.25.2016

MORGAN follows a corporate risk-management consultant who has to decide and determine whether or not to terminate an artificial being's life that was made in a laboratory environment. Certainly sounds familiar to a little film by the name of EX MACHINA, although MORGAN may have gorier results. Check out the teaser trailer featuring Kate Mara and Hydra favorite Toby Jones and decide for yourself!

This marks the feature film debut of Ridley Scott's sun, Luke Scott. I definitely got the ALIEN vibe from the trailer (aside from the previously mentioned EX MACHINA). I didn't go for the annoying vocal leitmotif, so I'm hoping the next trailer paints a much different picture than this one. Given that the film also stars Rose Leslie and Paul Giamatti, perhaps we'll see them next time around?

MORGAN is scheduled to hit theaters on September 2, 2016.

Even though this movie has been done a few times now, the A.I aspect always intrigues me.

So it's like SPECIES, but with less sex.

Cool sound design, but I've seen this movie before. Not meaning Ex Machina, that was one of a kind. This looks like a pretty typical killer robot movie. My only hope is that she gets all terminator-like near the climax and stomps around in a skinless endoskeleton as she destroys stuff. Otherwise, what's the point right?

Such a good cast.....

and yet such an uninteresting-looking trailer.

Correction should be made like this "This marks the feature film debut of Ridley Scott's son, Luke Scott."

I had no idea Ridley Scott went supernova and created a "sun" ;)

The trailer honestly didn't do anything for me. Looks like a overly styled straight-to-dvd feature, but I'll get around to seeing it when it comes on Netflix.
