Amber Heard and Rosamund Pike being considered for roles in X-Men: First Class
Just last week, there was a rumor floating around the net that Rosamund Pike (AN EDUCATION, DOOM) was presumably testing for the role of Emma Frost in Matthew Vaughn's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. Well, according to Production Weekly, Pike is involved with the mutant project, but instead she's reportedly being looked at for the role of Professor Xavier's colleague and confidante Moira McTaggert. This makes much more sense than Emma Frost and would actually be a pretty good fit.
And if perhaps you were somehow running low on boners, Production Weekly is also saying that the delectable Amber Heard (THE RUM DIARY, THE STEPFATHER) is being strongly considered by Fox for the role of Mystique. No complaints here.
But Production Weekly also makes a weird note regarding Michael Fassbender, saying that despite Fox's interest in the actor for the role of Magneto, Fassbender apparently isn't interested in testing for the part. The actor is also reportedly being sought after for the role of an unnamed villain in the Spidey reboot, so perhaps that has something to do with it? Fassbender's name has been all over the movie webs of late and the man certainly has a potentially busy schedule just this year: He's currently filming David Cronenberg's A DANGEROUS METHOD alongside Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley, and he could be gearing up as soon as this September for the adaptation of TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY.
