Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Sam Caitlin, and AMC's debut of PREACHER finished out its first season as one of the top 10 overall cable dramas of last year, with a total of 1.711 million viewers tuning into the Vertigo comics-inspired biblical thriller. If you're one of the many who enjoyed the exploits of Reverend Jesse Custer, Cassidy, Tulip O'Hare, and Arseface, the news that several actors have joined the cast of Season 2 should have you falling to your knees while shouting the word "Hallelujah!"

Today, it's been confirmed that GAME OF THRONES alum Noah Taylor, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Pip Torrens, and FARGO's Julie Ann Emery have all signed on as series regulars for the gritty Southern shock program. Additionally, actors Malcom Barrett (DEAR WHITE PEOPLE), Ronald Guttman (HOMELAND) and Justin Prentice (SEX, DEATH and BOWLING) will also join the fray in recurring roles.

As of the moment, there's no word on what roles the actors will be playing, though having read the series from beginning to end, I can venture a guess or two. Now, this is just speculation on my part, but I would surmise that Pip Torrens will enter into the program as Herr Starr, the former German anti-terror operative and member of The Grail - a secret organization tasked with protecting the inbred offspring of God. I would also venture a guess that Julie Ann Emery will come on as Ms. Featherstone, Herr Starr's loyal and bespectacled assistant. I don't know that I can pinpoint who Noah Taylor will play, though. Honestly, there are a ton of characters who come and go throughout the series, so your guess is as good as mine.

Season 2 of AMC's PREACHER will feature a total of 13 episodes as oppsed to 10 and is expected for release sometime in 2017.

Extra Tidbit: I highly recommend that you check out the full Vertigo series of Preacher. It's quite different from the show and offers a ton of insight into the characters that has yet to be touched upon in AMC's presentation.

I still haven't seen the show, but I am intrigued where they go next. Herr Starr is such an important character that it would make sense tor bring him on now, but that still leaves the L'Angelle family and Jody (I don't see him on the IMDb list, which is surprising if they included flashbacks), and of course the rest of the Grail.

Season 1 wasn't a direct adaptation, but it did more or less cover the first half of Volume 1. Season 2 could include some people from the second half of Volume 1. Noah Taylor or Ronald Guttman could be playing Si. Malcolm Barrett and Justin Prentice could be playing Bridges and Tool (although Prentice seems young). If the predictions about Starr and Featherstone are correct, (which I believe they are) it's also possible that Barrett could be playing Hoover.

Hoover was the first thought that came to my mind, although I think Barrett would be a better fit for Tool.

Good, Season 2 should resemble the comic a bit more.
