American Horror Story: Could we see Dylan McDermott returning this season?

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Dylan McDermott starred in the first season of "American Horror Story" but didn't survive the horrors of 'The Murder House'. He then popped up in "American Horror Story: Asylum" as deranged serial killer Johnny Morgan, aka Bloody Face, a stark change from his role as sex-addicted therapist Ben Harmon in the first season. Now fans are wondering if McDermott will complete the trifecta by appearing in the current season of the hit FX series. That's exactly the question raised by TVLine in a recent interview and the answer, while certainly not definite, is rather promising.

McDermott states…

I start a movie called SURVIVOR in January, with Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson and Angela Bassett, but Ryan [Murphy] wants me to come back, and I want to come back. So we just have to figure out the scheduling. To me, [doing American Horror Story] is always like going home.

It's interesting to note that SURVIVOR also stars "AHS: Coven" co-star Angela Bassett, so hopefully if she's able to work the series into her busy schedule, perhaps McDermott, who also has the new CBS show "Hostages" on his plate, can find the time to work "Coven" into his own schedule.

"American Horror Story: Coven" airs on Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX.
