Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and Rashida Jones join Disney's upcoming Muppet movie

The real people factor in Jason Segel's Muppet film is now starting to take shape. And what lovely shape indeed (yes, Chris, you're lovely too).

THR's Heat Vision is reporting today that Amy Adams (THE FIGHTER), Chris Cooper (THE TOWN) and Rashida Jones (THE SOCIAL NETWORK) are in negotiations to jump aboard Disney's THE GREATEST MUPPET MOVIE OF ALL-TIME (though Heat Vision is saying the film is "untitled" so that moniker might end up changing). Adams was already reported to have been entering talks with Disney to star earlier this month, but I guess this report now confirms that.

The film, from director James Bobin ("The Flight of the Conchords") and a story by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL), "sees those wacky Muppets reunite to put on a show in order to save a movie studio." Adams will play Segel's girlfriend who joins him in rounding up the Muppets. Jones will play an ABC executive, while Cooper will play, naturally, a greedy villain who wants to buy the studio to get at the oil hiding beneath it. That's such a simple but classic setup, perfect for the Muppets.

THE GREATEST MUPPET MOVIE OF ALL-TIME (or whatever they call it) begins filming next month.
Extra Tidbit: I totally love THE GREAT MUPPET CAPER.
