And you thought Jack and Jill was bad? Grown Ups 2 set for 2013...
Over at the Digital Dorm today, they're debating which is the funniest Adam Sandler movie, BILLY MADISON or HAPPY GILMORE. Sadly for Sandler, that's about where the funny ended. His most recent film, JACK AND JILL, should sweep the Razzies and now he's looking to sequelize his other worst film.
Coming Soon is reporting that Sony Pictures has set a July 12, 2013 release date for GROWN UPS 2, which has original writer Fred Wolf returning to work on the script. Sandler has not yet officially committed to the film (which would be his first ever sequel) but at the moment is "interested" in returning. This would assume he can get the entire gang - Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider and David Spade - back together again.
I guess the one positive when it came to Adam Sandler movies was that he wasn't making pointless sequels but we can't even say that anymore. I mean, GROWN UPS 2? Has there been a more transparent attempt at a paid vacation with friends (at least since the original GROWN UPS)?
The good news is that JACK AND JILL kinda bombed at the box-office grossing only $88 million worldwide (GROWN UPS, by comparison, grossed over $270 million worldwide). So I guess that explains why a sequel...
|Extra Tidbit:||I'll sign off on a GROWN UPS 2 so long as it's a remake of DELIVERANCE.|
