Now here's a pairing that feels right.

According to Deadline, Angelina Jolie (THE TOURIST, SALT) is in talks to star in a new untitled Luc Besson-written/directed dramatic thriller.

The hope is to have Jolie star in the project sometime next spring. The film is said to be "rooted in true scientific elements." Whatever the heck that means. Besson's EuropaCorp banner willl develop and co-finance the project. Negotiations are already underway with a studio for domestic distribution.

As for Jolie, the actress and newly turned filmmaker is busy prepping for the release of her directorial and screenwriting debut IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY.

yeas, the Soloist:

"Luc Besson is preparing his own Avatar", "The Fifth Element to the power of ten". Apparently, the arrival of James Cameron's mega-bucks fantasy, Avatar, has prompted Besson to return to sci-fi. "With the advent of digital technology, it is amazing what you can do," Besson said. His project, as-yet unnamed, is said to be at the creature design stage, and he's talking about two movies that will be released in 2013 and 2014.

I can't wait to see Jolie's directorial debut. Looks pretty damn good... and so does she.

I apologize but I'm completely mesmerized by that photo of Angelina, a naughty goddess on two legs!

Kraki, a sequel to Fifth Element? I'd be down for another one. The original is seriously underrated.

Yeah yeah, but what I really want Besson to focus on now is that two film continuation( or something like it) of The Fifth Element that he finally promised us...
