Apatow and Sandler II

100%

Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler will be working together on a new project, thus far untitled, revolving around stand-up comics. Sandler and Seth Rogen will star. Speaking to MTV about the project, Sandler said: "I've got to write an act again. It's been a long time. I haven't done stand-up in, like, 10 years. Even more." Meanwhile, Apatow says "It's a comedy, but it has more drama in it. A hilarious drama is what I'm going for... Every movie, I'm trying to find a way to go deeper, to tell stories about subjects that are important and make them less and less broad while making them equally as funny. [This film is] another step in that progression."

Talk about challenging yourself creatively! Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen in a movie playing stand-up comics who are hilarious. How about for the next film we get Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson to play two dumb blonde bitches who like shopping and f*cking? Or maybe two Labradors to star in a movie about two dogs who have tails and like chasing shit? Oh whatever, it's an Apatow flick, we all know it's gonna be awesome. I feel good about the dog movie though. Call me, Hollywood.
Extra Tidbit: Rogen's dad was in SUPERBAD, playing the "Dad with the Bat".

Flavor of the month? Sorry dude but Apatow has been around for a fucking decade. He produced and helped create Freaks and Geeks for t.v. way back in 1999, which also helped launch the careers of Seth Rogen, James Franco,John Francis Daley and Jason Segel. He wrote and directed two very successful comedies with "...Virgin" and "Knocked Up" and he's produced at LEAST 5 other extremely successful comedies PLUS he's got like 5 more coming! The dude is obviously a very funny guy and dare I mention

Does this mean Sandler has dried up on his own?

Not knocking him, smart to align with the comedy flavor of the month

Wow what a surprise, someone who Liked Billy Madison but not Spanglish. Spanglish was a great film for Sandler because it showed HE CAN ACT. Now all I need, is this new peoject so people can see Sandler being fucking hilarious like the old days and also show his acting skills that I KNOW he has. If anyone can make this a reality its Apatow. Bring it on.

GOOD

zohan looks fucking retarded.. to the point that I wouldn't see it if I was told to see it or my dog would die. Well, I probably would (but it would be a TOUGH decision)

maybe this new comedy will be more of the sandler from big daddy and the rogen/judd from knocked up. THAT would be the pairing I'd like to see.

at the end of this movie, Dave Chappelle should re-appear and completely blow these half-funny dudes off the stage.

I'd be hip to that news.

I haven't liked Sandler since Spanglish, and Happy Gilmore before that. I'm interested in this idea of him being... enjoyable.
